A great matchup! Spirit came out swinging, controlling most of the 1st half and getting a goal that gave them a 1-0 lead. FC battled back in the second half, controlling possession but where unable to get the ball across the goal line. Spirit wins 1-0

The 4 top team in U12 are: THUSC, Salmon Creek, EMFC, and FC Portland. LO came in fifth.

During the Fall season they tied FC Portland and Salmon Creek twice. In their losses to THUSC and EMFC, they only lost by 1 goal.

They are a good team with some great athletes. I would not classify them as a lowbie. Some of the LO parents are whiners (maybe because expectations are higher), but they are one of the top teams in U12.

FC PDX-- ...that they are a scrappy bunch with a few girls deserving to get a look on Navy.
Southside -- that they are ready and capable of competing for the top of Div 1.
Valley FC -- that jumping from Kidsports to State Cup OPL is not easy.
Eastside--- that they will be a force in Div 1, but should have been there last Fall.
BSC--- that finishing in the top six in premier next Fall is not realistic.
Lake O --- that they have closed the gap with the top "big four", are a State Cup Dark Horse.
FC PDX Navy-- that they need to find an offense to have a chance in the State Cup.

The less parents yell and pressure their kids the more fun they have. Whether my daughter wins OPL State Cup at U12 will not be a defining moment in my daughter's life. Besides if we don't win state cup we still have a chance to go to Nationals by winning regionals.

I see that Salmon Creek got smart and let Victor go. Maybe why they decided to do Challenge Cup as they saw this coming.

And maybe there was some truth about the biting incident. Because I know Victor could use the money and I know the team was successful.

Any predictions on how the 99 Timbers Reds will do in the OPL next Fall? They are generally considered a top five Washington team in their age group. They beat Ziconium and Nemesis in the Mt. Hood last summer, both games by a goal. My guess is they go in as the favorites and surely finish in the top two or three.

Funny how the 5-2 thumping the Nemesis gave the Timbers in the NWCL is not mentioned. But to be fair either team could win any match. The Timbers would definately contend in the OPL.

A friend just referred me to this thread and I have to share our family's experiences.

My daughter was approached by Victor after one of her games for a different club. He told her that she was very talented and should be playing against higher competition for college, scholarships, etc. because her team wasn't good enough for her development We moved over to Salmon Creek and she played under him for a year. During that year, she went from a starter on her former team to riding the bench for 80-90% of every game. When players were absent, he brought on guest players instead of giving the bench players experience. He was all about the w's.

In the meantime, we ended up paying thousands of dollars to get this "great experience." When I questioned her amount of playing time, Victor encouraged us to come to his private training for $30 hour. When we regularly did this, she played a bit more. When we didn't, she didn't. After looking into team finances, we realized how much he charges the team for every little cost associated with coaching. Meals on the road, his hotel, his travel expenses, his gas, etc. I know that coaches sometimes get these things comped, but it seemed like he was only in this for the money.

He was always very touchy-feely and there have always been a bunch of rumors about him around the girls. Now, when we play against him and I see him put his arm around the players, I am totally disgusted.

We are very bitter about our time at FCSC as my daughter wanted to quit the sport after a year with him. Fortunately she found an awesome team and is very happy. I hope other girls don't leave the game and realize that there are good experiences out there.

Think you left out that you were always late to practice, didnt attend team meetings, and walked to your own drum. $p3nc37 At one point didnt you show up 30 minutes late to a game. hmmm... betcha that doesnt happen where you are now.

1) No Timbers Players have trained with Salmon Creek. To say so puts FC's coach in a position where he can be sanctioned by the state for not informing the DOC's and coaches along with the club being fined. Please continue to post that so it shows either your stupidity or a lair. (Love FC's parents)

2) The Biting incident is NOT a rumor and when a player left the team because of it and a mtg had to be called for it again puts Salmon Creek parents in the spot light for defending a coach who literally put his mouth on a 11 year old. Questionable ethics???? But hey the team is beating U-11's so as long as they are winning our kid is ok to be bitten.

3) Timbers finished 2nd in the RCL in the fall and to put call into question their ability to play based on spring season having 11-12 players due to injuries, family obligations, vacations, etc. shows your stupidity.

4) Salmon Creek's performance against Timbers for NWCL when again Timbers had 12 players most importantly 2/4 of their backline is something that FC's parents can in all reality jump for joy about but ultimately shows very little in the way when they choose to dodge RCl division 2 teams and play challenge cup.

5) Please think that players from the Timbers are going to come to Salmon Creek at the end of the year. Ask your team why they lost one of their top players????? No one in their right mind is going to play for a coach who has a criminal history along with the fact that is under develops a good majority of his players to get WINS. If you don't believe me, ask the entire back line of Salmon Creek if they are happy learning how to play tag and kickball. Verify through the past assistant coach who took her kid and left.

6) Salmon Creek beat a undermanned Timbers squad a NWN team who placed 6th in the RCL, and issiquah team who isn't in first division and thinks they are the best???? Hilarious. Dodging all the good teams and playing garbage OPL doesn't make them quality. Come play in the RCL and try and do somethign against Seattle United, Rush, EFC (Who were 7th in the RCL last year) But wait, they can't even beat a THUSC team who slaughtered them in NWCL.

I think its funny when not only do ethics come into question when FC's parents defend their coach but also they think they can compare to a team who has shown they are top in the state of Washington (yes this means Championship cup...ever heard of it?)

This is what will happen. When the act is over, and that team starts to lose rightly so based on their development or attrition that has already started . The parents will start thinking about "their own" kid and realize they are in the wrong place. The good players will realize that Salmon Creek has no history of getting players on to the next level along with NO college coach is going to take the word of Victor. So they will ultimately go to teams that have the opposite. Why do you think Salmon Creek teams fissle out after the younger years? Win games early to get players...try like hell to keep them when parents stop drinking the cool aid and realize

Timbers had 12 players, missing 2/3 of their back line. Excuses???? Imagine that game without any of FC's big players in the back who boot the ball down field..... Lets see how they do in State Cup against each other.....Oh wait SC is playing Challenge cup against select teams...

Timbers would dominate the OPL Period. RCL teams all played 9 a side for development @ U-11. OPL did 11 a side. Do you really think that in the history of all Oregon vs Washington Soccer that the 2nd place RCL team will simply contend after a few seasons to develop? Thats laughable.
