They should be theoretically even better with these girls playing only U12 next year, practicing with each other full time and I would assume there is more then just a couple girls playing up.
Well imagine if ESUFC, VUSA, CUSC, THUSC, or Nemesis had their play up players come down and play every home game with the U11 team. I think you'd see all those teams improve dramatically as well. Difference is those clubs are trying to develop all the kids that are on the U11 team full time.

They didn't move kids around in age brackets, but he rode the bench nonetheless..... two halves of soccer on a weekend or in a tournament would have been a dream. When the games are close, they (I mean all clubs) go for wins and therefore play their best players. He quit the team, plays rec. and get's all the time he wants.
That's strange because I don't think THUSC had a premier boys team 2 years ago.

Agreed. Most of the time the other kids or teams catch up when they get older. Very, very few teams dominate year after year...

I emailed my friend, they weren't Premier. They didn't do well and his son probably should be playing rec. And by no means was I trying to pick on THUSC, great program, my DD tried out there for U11, we liked it a lot. Just opted for the closer club.

Being in the champions league will help them recruit more players to the club. I imagine the idea from the get go was that Oregon would become more competitive as they consolidate talent into four teams. Every club has star players that get more opportunity than others. Sometimes you have to make your own opportunity. I imagine if you have a very bright child in school you would want the same challenges academically.. If you cannot stand the unfairness of it all, it really is not a good place for your kid!
Thank you! I was beginning to think I was the only parent okay with clubs wanting to be competitive and being honest about the fact that performing well draws other kids to your club and team which raises the level for the kids which is not a bad thing. Also I think you play for your club first and help your club if you can which helps all the teams. However you do it, there will be kids that play more than others and, as a parent, you need to find the place that best fits your child and develops them whether it be a premier club, a smaller club or rec.

Does ESUFC, VUSA, and CUSC have U11 players playing U12?

I know THUSC has several younger players playing up. My thoughts are they should move some of them down considering there U12 roster is at 18 or 19, but that is their choice and they should do what they want.

How many players are rostered on Silver?

I have heard Silver will be down to 14 soon because a girl is moving in December some time.

I'd be surprised if any U11's are playing U12 at ESUFC given the U12 team isn't very strong (last in premier) and their U11's are near top of Premier.

Same with CUSC. Seems silly for a 'star' player to be playing at the bottom of Division 1 in U12 when they could be on a solid U11 premier team.

These club above might not play girls in both U11 and U12 as it is a very different situation than FC or THUSC which have good premier teams in both age groups.

anyone know why for the directors cup (U11G) they have a game listed to play tomorrow with a score in it already? "0-14".

No problem with competition. However, until the kids reach U14 - especially girls - there needs to be an emphasis on development first and winning second. Club soccer is about commitment - from the team/club and player/family - to put in 110% effort to get the maximum rewards. You don't do that by sitting on the bench.

It's also absolutely ridiculous to think that "winning" helps recruit more players to your club. Kids want to play with their friends and have a personable coach. Period. All this mumbo-gumbo about recruiting and winning at all costs are simply adult concepts thrown into youth sports...

There is so much wrong about this I do not know where to begin. Clearly your first rodeo. I have an older child as well, and I can tell you right now, with 100% certainty there is movement because of winning. I can also tell you that consolidating players is another reason the NWCl exist. Your kid is too young, and has never played for OYSA, but the original idea of the Premier council was to consolidate talent. A personable coach? Ha, that is funny I can't even comment. And do not forget the season is a year long. It includes practices, scrimmages, important games and not so important games. Being in the top four just means you have to look at development throughout the year and not the 2 last games. Coaches will be much more strategic in how they play their players.
