They take the Division 1 title where they were probably considered somewhat of an underdog to take the title before the season started. (BSC played division 1 all last season while some teams moved down from the premeir last year to play division 1 this year.)
It was a tough fall season with WSM, RVSC and Pacific giving BSC everything they got and coming up very close to taking the titile. WSM was one point off and RVSC and Pacific two points off and boasting a guady 28 and 21 goal differential for the season.
FC was the standout B team of the division finishing in the top half along with a revamped SSC.
NEU, THUSC, Sherwood and Clackamas are not exactly a shabby bottom half. Felt for the Timbers who battled all season and ended up a point short of staying in division 1.
EMFC is an enjoyable club with good girls and parents. Hope they find their groove on division 2.
Great fall season . . . BSC out of no where to takes the fall season!
Almost had it right with prediction of BSC and RVSC moving up to premeir. In the end, RVSC couldn't quite close the gap on WSM (it was very very close).
Gotta agree, the travel was worth playing great teams in D-1. Tough to end up in 3rd place but our girls definitely had a great season playing quality teams! Congrats to the top two teams....we will see you again!!!!
You are right about those top 4 teams being too close to call. It is a shame that only two teams can move up. If you look at scores:
Even though BSC and Fuego are #1 and #2 respectively:
RVSC beat BSC 4-1
and
Newcomer Pacific FC tied BSC 1-1, and
Pacific FC beat Fuego 1-0.
One more win (or tie for Pacific) would have put either of these teams in the top 2. Good competition!
I agree with good competition. I don't know about having more move up. In fact given the tight race among a large group of teams, it a shame any of them are moving instead of doing it all over again in the spring . . . I'm guessing the top 6 are in different order the second go round.
In the premier, it would be hard to break into the top 4 and pretty sure neither BSC or WSM will do any damage in premier. Would rather have them as the top guns totry and take down in the spring. But there are two teams moving down, and it will be fun to see how they come and fare in division 1.

LO has now clearly made that division a "top 5". A huge separation between LO and the 6th place team.
WSM moving up to Premiere will likely be a bloodbath. They have not fared well against those top 5 teams in 2 years, and it's highly doubtful that a single Fall season in Div 1 will change that...
SSC was a disappointment. They moved down from Premier and were not in the top 4...that program is quickly losing ground to the other "Nike premier" teams in the greater PDX area...

So LO has changed their team around in a single fall season, but WSM can't?
As you pump up LO, you put down SSC. Yet looking at how LO other clubs are doing besides the one U12G, and comparing them to SSC, LO is the club quickly losing ground as they were once a prestigeous girls soccer club.

LO is losing ground? Hmmm...I see LO on the OPL leader board twice. SSC is on there once, and that SSC Pride team is actually the old Aloha Pride team (who also dominated the old SSC stealth team).
For Fall 2011, OPL Premier Division:
U11: LO 8th place, SSC 12 place (last)
U12: LO 5th place, SSC no team (Div 1 highest level of comp team)
U13: LO 6th place, SSC no team (Div 1 highest level of comp, won by SSC Pride)
U14: LO 8th place, SSC 7th place. Both finished on the bottom.
So, arguably the best team SSC can field at the moment is SSC Pride, which migrated relatively intact from a neighboring club that imploded. LO has a girls team in the Premier Division at every age level from U11-14 - yet LO is the team that is a losing ground?
Please do explain...
Regardless, I was not "putting down" the SSC team. However, SSC Fury finishing in the middle of Div 1 is a disappointment. Considering SSC picked up a large number of girls from other clubs (like Aloha), then you need to wonder about the coaching and program. The only overly successful team was an entire team (and coach) from another club. . Dropping down from Premier and picking up a large number of relatively talented girls (mostly from Aloha)...
PS: Before you start lambasting LO, realize I have no children playing for LO - past, current or foreseen future.

I believe what they meant by that comment was that LO used to be such a powerhouse on the girls side where SSC never has been. It's a much farther decent for LO because of their past.

Realize I have no children playing for SSC-past, current or foreseen future
Your not putting down SSC, you just think they are a "disappointment", they are "losing ground" and that you have to "question their coaching" because their only success is from Aloha. But again you aren't putting down SSC.
You also found the need to post that WSM going to premier will be a "bloodbath" as it is doubtful they have changed at all. But of course that isn't negative.
Then, just in case anyone was interested in your opinion in this Division 1 thread, the only thing positive you say in the post is about how LO has moved into the "top 5."
What was the point of that whole post. It basically put down two division 1 teams while pumping up how LO has improved to get into a "top 5" . . . good for LO, I am happy they moved up to 5th place in premeir this year. I wish them, WSM and SSC the best.
If we want to get into the "just saying like it is" . . . that is where I laugh as you couldn't be more off when it comes to who is" losing ground". Try seeing where LO was with thier girls program and where they are now . . . "bloodbath." (See there I go sinking down to your level again. Got nothing against LO and hope they do well)
I have to admit that I would like to see my daughter play in the premeir league. But after reading through these threads, at least I don't have deal with what appears to be 5Xs the drama in the premeir league (I doubt any division 1 teams are stacking their rosters with guest players or being accused of stealing players)
Thank you division 1 teams for keeping it competitive and relatively drama free.
All of these teams were positive, sportsmanlike, and were filled with girls that seemed to be having fun in a less pressured environment. I also think that some of the top D1 teams would be good competition for the Premier teams. ;)
Adding in the fact that some of these D1 teams were Select (not- Premier), these teams were high achieving without the $2000 pricetag per season.
