Looks like Eastside is playing some great soccer!

The question now is since Onyx has already won the Fall league will they take it easy on teams? Will they mix it up and move defenders to forward and forwards to defense? I guess we'll see tomorrow when Eastside plays them. Rumor has it they have taken all week off so I'm guessing they will come out very rusty. Go Eastside!

You got part of it right!! Onyx mixed it up for a lot of the game. However Onyx looked really fresh after taking a week off. Good job girls!!

So I doubt that Sherwood can beat FCP next weekend so they stand a real chance of not even making it into NWCL next year. How can a team go from one of the best teams in Premier last year to 5th or 6th this year? I have to wonder if the new players never fit in or is it coaching. What if they make it into NWCL and the team falls apart? Who takes that spot the next best record?

Sherwood hasn't lost players. Same coach as always. It's the same song and dance with Sherwood. Small town club, occassionally surprises with a good team here or there, athletic kids. As other teams develop and progress from clubs teaching real tactical and technical skills, Sherwood loses steam.

You can only get by for so long with over the top "thru" balls, as opposed to foot to foot or thru balls sent on the ground to players moving and making runs.

Looks like there is a lot on the line for LO, Sherwood and Eastside this weekend. LO could potentially be relegated if they lose both games this weekend (playing Rush and Eastside both won in the first meeting) Eastside and Sherwood playing for the 4th spot in NWCL. Should be some exciting games for sure. Good Luck.

Nice call! That makes it even more exciting. If they win both that would knock out Eastside, and they would have the head to head tie breaker against Sherwood.

Nope. They tried to play up to U13 last year in the Spring and then tried to play up to U14 this season for Fall league and were shot down both times.

It makes total sense in not allowing Onyx to play up in Fall league. If they did allow that, OPL would have to create some special rules as it pertains to NWCL qualification. Not allowing them to play up in Fall just makes the scenario cleaner and easier. However, Spring means nothing for qualification. As a parent of another team in the division, we appreciate the chance to play them and would miss that chance to guage our improvement. But if they truly want to play up, what is lost or what complications arise?
