And for Thelo Galaxy the only way to get in premier is to hope CFC and HR dont win a game and Thelo has to win the rest of their games. For the other six teams it is impossible for them to get in premier for the spring season. This is a toss up, it anybodys spot right now!!
that is interesting. I hadn't heard they were doing relegation in the spring. So they are dropping two teams from premier down to division 1?

I thought they would wait for next year and make the changes then.

How would CFC and HR fair in premier? would they be a midlevel team?

Below is the discussion of Promotion/Relegation from the OPL Team Handbook. It sounds like it won't happen until the Fall but if you read the U15-U18 rules, it may not happen at all. It may just be back to the DOCs' descretion.

      Premier Division Promotion and Relegation
U11 Teams are placed according to DOC preference, and backed by prior placement and results from U10 competitive leagues, and summer tournament results directly prior to the start of Fall Season.
U12-U14 For the 2012 Fall Season: the bottom two teams from the Fall League 2011 Premier Division will be relegated to the First Division; the top two teams from the Fall League 2011 First Division will be promoted to the Premier Division. Should one of the two First Division teams decline their opportunity to move up, the position DOES NOT become open to the 3rd place First Division team – rather, the 7th place Premier team will be allowed to stay in the Premier Division, and only the 8th place team will move down.
U15-U18 Divisions determined by DOC requested placements, and backed by prior league placement. Divisions are ratified by Club DOCs at Winter League seeding meeting.

Yea this makes it sound like their won't be a relegation for the boys, but instead placement by the DOCs for when they move to U15.

Based on that it looks like Spring 2012; will stay the same as Fall 2011

Well if there is relegation, then HR United is in premier now. They beat CFC Rangers 2-1 away.

I really haven't seen HR play this year; I think once in the summer.
How do you think they would do in premier?

Would they be lower level premier? Midlevel? Top?

To be truthful... probably top 5 behind WUSC, ESUFC, OSA, and FC. Considering they did better than WSM in Mt Hood Challenge. Also WSM is much better than NEU and LO as well.

                Top group: WUSC, ESUFC, EMFC
                Middle: OSA, WSM, FC, LO
                Bottom: NEU

Unfortunately, NEU needs to drop down 1 tier. They really got outplayed in Premier Division. Lake O wasn't far behind..... They stepped it up, so they likely sealed their place in Premier, but they have been dragging in the bottom 2.

                    current points for the bottom 4 teams;

                    WSM 11
                    LO 11
                    OSA 10
                    NEU 2

LO has no games this weekend so they will stay at 11.
OSA has a game with NEU (sorry) this week. OSA will be on top with 13 points.
WSM vs. FC -- For some reason, FC has never beaten WSM this year. Very strange... Any thoughts??
WSM vs. WUFC -- WUFC will win!

Bottom line two teams: LO and NEU

It has been almost a full year since FC has beat WSM, since last years fall season. I chalk it up to the match-up. Not a matter of better team, just how the teams match-up head to head.

LO won't drop though as next year they will be apart of OSSA; with OSA, SSC and WUSC.

So HR should be able to join Premier no problem; then it depends on if OSSA is given one or two teams in premier, as they will have had two of the top 6 teams. If LO steps up 3 of the top 6.

So this will possibly leave room for CFC as well.

As for the spring season I don't think you will see a shift in the teams from Premier to Division 1

If Thelo wins out, wo't they finish in 2nd place?

I apologize when I made my comments about CFC; I did not bother at looking at the results between Thelo and CFC. I should have said in more general terms that another team from division 1 would be able to come up to Premier.

I happened to look back at the 2010 fall archives and forgot how much the league has changed in just a year. FC Portland was 10-1-1; followed by WUSC at 9-2-1; then ESUFC 8-3-1; LO 5-5-2; NEU 4-6-2; EMFC 3-6-3; WSM 3-9; Salmon Creek 0-10-2. Granted this are results of 12 games where everyone didn't play everyone twice but still interesting.

FC is still strong now but what changed to make them 3rd/4th vs a dominate #1?

                              EMFC has sure improved.

Why such the change with LO and NEU? Just a loss of a few players?

I wonder how much it'll change again in the next year?

I heard about 2 FC players unhappy with there playing time so they both moved to WUSC.
