Unbelievable game. As impressive as Brazil is (and they are impressive), it was an interesting contrast in styles and I'm interested in people's thoughts. In virtually every youth women's game, there seem to be a girl or two nowadays who shows off her technical skills while a decent defender waits patiently and ultimately takes the ball away or stops the approach. Lots of standing around by teammates. Hard to argue with a Marta approach, but also hard to argue with nice, crisp ball movement. And you sure as heck can't beat a big heart and drive.

I thought the move by Erika/Brazil Team was one of most unprofessional, bush league moves I've seem in many years. And if you watch the reply of the first PK, Solo moved horizontally between the posts. During the PK's following the extended time the Brazil keeper moved far more forward. I am so glad the USA pulled this out, but something has to be done about the officials. They we down right horrible.
The USA played with heart, guts and never gave up. The announcers said it best; "They have left it all on the field tonight.." Dang right!!
USA, USA, USA!!!

Great win
Time to retire Abby
Brazil is the Italy of women's soccer
Disappointed at the level of play by all the teams at the World Cup, expected much more.

If Brasil ever learns how to play as a team they will be the best. They have the individual skills already and just need to bring some great passing. The Brazilian mens team demonstrates great technical and tactical skills better than any team. If only they would support their women the same. Women's soccer in Brasil is highly underfunded, nothing like here in the US. I have to say that Brasil dominated much of the game having possession way more than the US but could never really put on a good attack.
Great win for the US and such an exciting game to watch. Can't wait for the semi!

That would be nice

Having said that, that was an awesome effort. Go USA

You can tout the Brazil team on here all you want. You can put down the US team all you want. The facts are the facts. USA advances, Brazil goes home. On Sunday the best team won.

Sounds to me that like they were covering their rear ends after the fact here.
