LOL gotta laugh at comments like this

OrRush U95G have not played a OPL team this winter or spring, so I don't know what you base your failed ranking system on but I can assume that it stems from Or Rush being rated higher than THUSC or OSSA. OrRush played the FWRL instead of the NWCL and OPL. That earned them some points as did being finalist in the Presidents Del Sol tournamnent.

Is it a failed ranking system or is it the downside of the OPL starting their own league? I am sure over the years it will all even out and the OPL will get the recognition that they deserve. For now it is what it is and I am certain that this was a known con before the decision to pull out of OYSA.

Why do you insist on posting reasonable comments like this? Isn't it just easier to blurt out something without thinking?

Given that Rush never managed a statewide title when they played against LO/Ossa and Thusc it seems odd that they would be ranked higher. Guess we shouldn't let reality get in the way of a good ranking.

I think that is where "what have you done lately" comes in.

The OPL is relatively unknown outside of Oregon and parts of Washington. Conversely, OrRush played in events and leagues that were known to be highly competetive and they received more points than the OPL teams that did not do nationally recognized leauges and tournatments.

The OPL state cup hasn't risen to that level of notoriety yet. On the flip side, the OPL state cup winner was guaranteed a berth in Surf Cup which I have heard over and over was a huge selling point.

The original poster was correct that the OPL will need to go out and show what they are made of in the Surf cup and other nationally recognized tournaments. In doing that they will receive points as well. I for one and confident that they have what it takes to do that. Go Oregon and Go OrRush

What exactly is your reality? Are any of the teams the same as even last year, let alone prior years? THUSC might have a gripe. LO has no basis for complaining given their record against Rush and who LO has played this year. Only THUSC gets out and plays as much difficult competition as Rush, and it pays off generally - in this case, it didn't quite work out for THUSC (yes, to my surprise), but that's not Rush's fault. Rush has done what it has needed to do so why be bitter towards them? For all practical purposes, for better or worse, the clubs could be in different states given the split.

Even so, entry in the Surf Cup is not solely based on rankings. Contact them (Surf Cup) directly if you have a problem and they'll give you all the factors. Bemoaning the fact that one OR team got in while others didn't is not going to resolve your issues. THUSC and LO/Ossa will have plenty of opportunities to prove themselves.

THUSC and LO are set up to play each other in the Surf Cup (Gold Group) final. I know that doesn't help them this year, but getting there would go a long way toward getting OPL some out-of-state respectability and yes, points. Good luck, girls.

I could be wrong because my daughter was not with OR Rush then, but I am thinking that while OrRush did not manage a statewide title against OSSA or THUSC prior to this year that oddly enough last year they knocked OSSA (then LO) out of the quarter finals. Additionally, it was our old team (Arsenal) that beat Rush last year in the semifinals. I can tell you first hand that what Or Rush did last year and what Arsenal did last year have nothing to do with what would happen if they met today.

Surely you can understand how every new start up leauge is not ranked as being a nationally recognized leauge or tournament without some performance record. And, it isn't a matter of reality. You don't know any more than I do who would have won if we had all been in the same league. That is something that we could trash talk about but it won't change anything.

While THUSC and OSSA were playing NWCL and OPL; Or Rush 95G were playing FWRL and did the President's Del Sol. It is different.. nothing more. Fortunately for us, FWRL and OYSA State Cup were ranked much higher than the OPL cup.

Now it is time to go show em who the OPL is and win some big time tournaments!! Good luck and enjoy!

Enough of the Bend, Sodium, OSSA talk.

Get back on topic. Who is the outside back that is leaving Ireland?

But isn't that what this forum is all about - trash talking. For the good of the kids, of course!

Was there a entire team that departed THUSC?

So is the Tualatin HS /95 ODP Player gone from Ireland now? Heard it is OSSA 95 picking her up will they have her for Surf Cup? Man this off season is getting interesting fast and it isn't technically off season yet.

Heard she went with most of THUSC Sapphire to join coach MJ (aka "Coach RedCard") on his new club/team.
