Wasn't good for Oregon soccer, but it is ultimately up to the players to decide. There will always be recruiting and team changes, but hopefully the OPL can start to work together more and improve for all, giving more players opportunities. THUSC and WSM should unite and work together, but it may take even more than that. Choice is the american way, and clubs have to worry about the money, so it will take some real cooperation to make it happen.
Especially needed on high school level to compete with changes in soccer such as OSSA, but would face lots of big hurdles. What can we do as parents to help make it happen? Can be tough on players to find the right fit, sometimes leaving to neighboring clubs.

Did you really say that Bain or Monty wouldn't put up with it? I guess you do not know Cony's reputation at all. He has yelled at and embarrassed players to the degree that they are out there crying on the field. He singles players out and humiliates them in front of everyone. His teams do well so Bain turns the other cheek.
unlike you, i haven't drank the Tom kool-aid. and btw, John Bain is the most respected coach/DOC in the state. with what happened in the MJ case, both he and Tom would have been booted long time ago. Tom doesn't even belong in the same room, much less the same conversation. but keep going with that kool-aid drink.

Since you seem to be such a huge Bain fan, maybe your daughter would be better suited playing for him. Too bad parents ego's & attitudes have to play such a big part. How about letting her play for who SHE wants to play for? Novel concept I know.

If he was the most respected why did not get rid of Cony already?

All of the players on the Tualatin Metros Teams had to sign waivers saying they would not move to WSM Teams in the middle of the Season. Everyone is calling it the Cony Rule for all of the crap he pulled last year. Oh, by the way, the Tualatin Youth Soccer Association is still waiting for that apology you promised. Put that together with all of the bad treatment of the girls that he coached paints a pretty ugly picture.

This is the Head of your Coaching at WSM John!!

                hhhmmmmm

ahh the effects of that Kool-aid. Tom knows how to mix them. Glad I didn't line up last week at Powerlines to have a sample.

Tom didn't make anyone sign anything, you must be referring to the "Cony rule". Tom knows if the club doesn't come thru then the players are free to leave if they choose. No kool-aid, just a way to hold the club accountable with your wallet.

Report back if you know of any new player that has been moved upward, and wasn't already on the national pools. Also would be nice for them to put out a player development plan....like "You need to work on your first touches, then we'll move you on...."
First off, start your own "I hate THUSC" thread then we don't have to pick through your silly ramblings.

Second, does anybody on here know how good the players are that make the National pools? And any of the girls here in Oregon are that good? Not even close. Hugo is casting a huge net to find that one girl. And you all are arguing about qualifications of the girls selected to kick the ball around for that one girl. Be happy for what it is... and take up fly fishing. You need a hobby. (Not the person I quoted, the over obsessed people thinking their kid should have been selected but weren't so the system must be broken)

So you don't think any age group of girls in Oregon are national team pool qualified?

Any chance you might consider posting only on the "silly ramblings" thread?

Not on the girl's side. We will see one every 3-4 years.
