I saw them at the first training session. It's purely off coach recommendations to get into the training session. After that USSF will decide. I think sending 50 girls is too many. USSF is looking for National level players. There is no way Oregon has 50 in one age group.

You are correct there will not be 50 out of one agegroup..

There wasn't 50 last time, I think there was 25 '98s and 25 '97s if I remember correctly, are there 50 this time?

25????? Who on earth would think that we have 25 '98 or '97 girls that would be National team quality?? Coaches need to set their egos aside and keep it real. USSF will not want to keep coming back if we don't take this seriously.

The training sessions are for scouting talent so any kid that has been playing well will have a shot. If you weren't selected the first time you still have a chance at the other training sessions. Apparently just about anyone can get into the session since coaches are recommending waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many kids.

We have had this worthless discussion before, really you need to start it all over again? Everyone sends their best few players which across Portland is a lot of clubs. Then they get watched in a training center. I don't think they expect 25 Mia Hamm's to show up. Give me a break, these are 11-13 year old kids, who cares if they pick 10 or 100, the trainers will decide who they want to see again, why do we have to belittle our kids and our state's coaches and DOC's? Just let the process happen.

I totally agree. If you dont get an invite and you think your player is worthy of a shot, take that up with your coach first, then your DOC (in person or on the telephone directly). This is not the place to vent your anger or frustration as it will do nothing. If your coach, DOC or club is not paying attention, look for a new one that does.
