That was definitely part of it. Onyx also had some players out due to illness and some strange line-ups. One of the starting defenders was playing forward! It was fun to watch.

People played different position...

Players ate too much before the game...

Players didn't get enough sleep the night before....

We had to play uphill and against the wind the entire game....

We are so good that we still tied and it was fun to watch. Seriouslly ???

I haven't read anything on here that is giving excuses or saying that Onyx is too good. Even the Onyx parents have been very supportive of both teams and don't seem over confident at all. I think you are just trying to stir the pot against Onyx.

This game is probably good for Onyx because they are going to see a lot more of this in the next couple of weekends. That is teams packing the box and playing for the tie, whether it is to play for the tie and get the point or play for the tie and go to PK's.

I completely agree. I think most teams will play defensive minded vs Onyx and go for the tie so they can try to win in pk's. Onyx will have to learn how to spread the field and bring the defense out of the box. It will take a lot of patience which is hard for 12 year old kids!

I would have to agree that probably is part of it then. No one seems to have made it the excuse for the tie. They just said it played a factor in it and it probably did. Get off Onyx's back. They're a good team just like the rest of U12.

It is not the players. For the most part the kids seem great. It is the parents that are the problems and will eventually ruin it for some of the kids.

My daughter has played against Onyx and with some of the Onyx girls and I've never seen a problem with the parents. I've never even read anything on here bad from the Onyx parents. You seem bitter against them.
