OPL Score updates

Is there any standard time that a score is supposed to be imputted for a completed game?
It seems that home teams that win post right away and when they lose it takes forever to post.

Can we get some consistancy please

To whip yet another dead horse;

It is the home team managers responsibility to report the scores to OPL. Once the scores are reported they are posted promptly. If you have a disgruntled manager or one that is a sore loser, then that is an issue that needs to be addressed directly with that individual and is not the responsibility, or concern, of OPL. Thank you. ;)

PLEEASSE please people.. If you have a beef with the scores and you were the home team call your manager. IF you are annoyed and from another team call the club where the manager is from.. This is so stupid. The clubs should be policing their managers not the OPL.

Why doesn't the OPL allow both the home and away team to post the score? This would dramatically improve the situation. My child's victory over Southside still hasn't been posted despite me contacting the Southside administrator and the other team manager. OPL needs to find a better method to address this problem.

My child's victory over Southside still hasn't been posted despite me contacting the Southside administrator and the other team manager. OPL needs to find a better method to address this problem.

In the meantime, why don't you just list their score here if you feel the need to get the information out sooner than the OPL site. That's what lots of people have been doing. List age group, teams, and score.

I didn't interpret the first poster as ripping on the OPL or the Home team. I saw it as a question as to why scores aren't posted on a consistant basis.

Now.... for the other issue on this forum. Are there really people who are waiting with their browser's open waiting to flame someone who asks a question.

If you are waiting all day and checking the OPL web site hourly, it is you that needs a life or at least something else to do.

I'm from the East coast (New England area) where there are multiple competing premier youth leagues. Quite simply, the serious leagues that are run well get their scores posted the day the game is played. You can always spot a bush league by looking at their standings and seeing gaps in the posted scores and uneven "games played" in the standings.

To me it's a legitimate gripe. Counting on a "team mom" who eventually, hopefully, maybe will post the score is bush league.

I would never judge a league on the quickness of score updates. If that is my main gripe with the league then I'd say you don't have much to complain about. As long as the fields are good, refs are there and the competition is good then I'm a happy customer.

I would suggest that if the scoring system is your main concern then you move your child to an OYSA club. Problem solved!

To me a legitimate gripe is:

1. Your team is in the wrong division and is either getting killed or killing teams and they cannot be switched.

2. Fields are lousy, too small, need a good mowing, lumps and bumps all over them.

3. Refs have not shown up to 2 or more games

4. Traveling all over the state to not have much competition

5. League fees are higher than normal rate

6. League does not offer any competition outside of your state
