Sorry haven't been around we were in Boise in the tournament there.
Bend (Oregon Rush) we won the first 2 games. The last game we tied NWN Red 1 to 1 we out played them we had more shots on goal but couldn't get them in. They still play boot ball and that is not going to work much longer. So we were tied so then they went by point scored.

First games
NWN scored 4 to 1
Bend scored 2 to 1
2nd game different teams
NWN scored 3 to 2
Bend scored 6 to 1
Then we tied each other 1 to 1
The tournament had a 4 point rule per game. So NWN got to go to the Semi's.
The girls felt robbed 2 weekend in a row this tournament and last when our game got cut off early because of the lighting.

It is sad then you don't loss a game and can't move on. There was another team that won all their game and didn't get to move on.

Sodium is heading North to Washington for Crossfire.

ST, tough for the girls two weekends in a row, sorry. I know it takes a lot out of a team when they leave it all on the field and come up just short or don't advance due to something like weather. Chins up, as long as they knew they gave it 100%, their time will come. Plenty of soccer left.

We have the weekends off until LO Nike Cup. Less we can get a friendly around the 19th over here. Right now is club vacation and the 12th is the golf fund raiser for the club. Good luck to all of you playing this weekend.

Hey OR,

Well, after almost a 2 week lay-off after Regionals the girls came out a little flat for the United Cup. We ended up a disappointing 2-2 for the tourney. We had several girls on vacation (including our starting and back-up goal keepers!) and just couldn't get the engines started. The wins were exciting (one was 7-0!) and in both losses we came back strong but just ran out of time so the girls weren't really too upset :( . All-in-all it brought out some areas that need work for the new team.

ST - Golf fund raiser?! Where do I sign up! LOL!

My parents came into town this weekend. Nest weekend will be my first weekend without any plans . :D :D

Looks like we might be running into FC Portland in the CQTs. What is "their usual self" like? Anything we should be looking for? Also, I heard FC Portland Marine was also out of a coach, with Andrew Gregor being traded to New York recently.

I don't think FC Portland Marine needs Westside to make them look good. They won all of their games in the Portland Cup and went unscored on for the entire tournament. They faced Westside for the first game of the tournament and won 3-0 and then again in the championship game where they won again 4-0.

FC Portland Marine had 3 or 4 different coaches through out the tournament because they currently do not have a team coach. Plus this team has not played in a game together since May. And then you add in the mix of 2 Defenders being out of town and 2 new players added to the team this year.

What is annoying is when a team loses to a team they "think" they are better than, they can't just say "good game to the oppossing team", they have to look for excuses to make themselves feel better. Actually, I should say, when a teams "PARENTS" watch their childs team lose, they have to scramble their brains to come up excuses to justify it to themselves. I honestly don't believe the girls of the winning or losing teams are sitting back discussing how one team makes the other team "look better than they are".

Try congratulating a team for pulling together under unfortunate circumstances and working together and playing well to win a tournament instead of trying to insult them and say they look good because of another team.
