Or only those with the agenda to damage, degrade or truly diminish soccer to it's lowest form will be left here to pat each others egos.

http://oregonpremiersoccer.com/forum is more precise....... yes you need to register and yes it tends to be civil. People debate but there are no guest posts that can troll away on people

A better place to discuss
I'm from Clark County but my DD plays OPL. It would be great if you OPLers came on over to the other site.
At the very, very, very least--even if the idiots also show up over there--you would be able to know who's talking when they post!

Looks like the Oregon Premier Soccer site just might put this one under. Lots of posters moving to the new site.

WPS, OPS forum
I don't see how this changes anything.
So a user has to log in to post. So what? You don't know me, you don't know who my kid plays for. If you post some inane comment, I can still flame you. If I want to say something that isn't on my "Anon" user, I can create an alternate login and use that. It makes no real difference; I just think there are some thin skinned babies out there that don't like being called out on their posts and think that knowing the user name of the person calling them out makes a difference.
I've been reading and posting to the WPS forum for years. There are plenty of acerbic posts made and even some occasional nastiness. That won't change. But I guess if you guys get warm and fuzzy knowing that Anon posted this comment, well good for you.Just Plain Silly :p

One of the differences is that the moderator can see the IP address of the poster and can tell where it came from.

You can have more than one account per i.p., but typically people don't post and respond to themselves anyways. The biggest plus is no guest posts, you will notice on forums that have set members you get to know them by their posts and comments.
You may not know them personally but at least you can attach comments, beliefs, and older posts to a user. With guest you have no idea if it's 50 different people or 1, and to me that's an issue.
The nice thing is there are choices for people.

Of course the reason the other posters gave for only registered users having the ability to post was somehow they would not get there fee-fees hurt by someone who disagreed with them or otherwise thought their comments lack insight or savvy.Just Plain Silly :p

Although, just because someone is registered doesn't mean they won't get their
"fee-fees hurt by someone who disagreed with them or otherwise thought their comments lack insight or savvy."
A registration at a forum doesn't equate to boosted intellect. There will always be differences in opinion.
