That is true, but the tourney has some meaning and specific purpose, as it's the qualifier for the regional/national tourneys. Both for the Presidents and State cup championships these tourneys are ran in effect by the national office with specific rules that are the same nationwide. No one single or group of OYSA clubs personally benefit from it.

How and when?

Just about anything is on here

Why don't you email the OPL and find out? If you're looking for concrete evidence that would probably be your best bet instead of coming on here and asking.

That's interesting
So #16 makes a statement challenging what had been a widely held belief, 17 asks for more information, and is then told to go research it themselves. It would be interesting for all to know what the original statement was based on, is this just an opinion, or is there real information here?

As for your second comment, yes my children play for OYSA, friends have kids who play for OPL, and I as a Soccer consumer am broadly interested in the health of Oregon Soccer. Get a clue. We are not practicing segregation by soccer association. My kids will finish in youth soccer will I then carry a tattoo of the league for the rest of my life?
A) an idea like that is so small minded it is sad.
B) you recognize truly sound organizations when they are able to receive and respond to comments from the outside. This "don't ask us any questions until we have your money" attitude is disturbing.

There is no way to know whether you are the original poster or not, but you seem eager to avoid any discussion of a salient point.

As you say, that's hearsay and you have no knowledge on the subject. You obviously don't want to email the OPL for answers so that seems to mean you don't want to hear the answers.
Here lies the difference. The OPL is a private organization. One that does not have to share any of it's financial heath and welfare and because so, has chosen not to. OYSA on the other hand is a 501C3. One that MUST share it with the public.

If such information was true it would, honestly, dispel one of my biggest issues with the OPL structure. So I asked a question. Then I get hit with all this unregistered background BS. I still would like to know the answer. No I am not going to call OPL and say " you know I saw this post online that the council member clubs don't benefit from the league financially, is this true?". Whomever made the original statement, why do you believe it to be true?

OPL's information is all private so if someone claims the principal eight do not benefit from the league, the only way to know that is from the inside.
