there should be more teams

U'15 is usually the time where kids stick with club soccer or decide they want to play other sports and try other activities in high school. The nature of the club soccer calendar means it is virtually impossible to do many other things and still be giving 100% to the club team.

This is what i have heard as my daughter moves up in years, but what I have seen this year is there are not enough oppurtunities/teams. Lots of girls who want to play but not many teams, some clubs don't even offer high school age teams. I think this should be a major consideration when choosing a club at a younger age, but it is hardly mentioned in other threads about "where should I take my daughter at U11 or U12".

I agree with the stigmas attached to some clubs, we heard a lot of things and you can read them on this forum about THUSC but when we tried out my daughter and our family immediately felt welcome. The players, parents and coaches dedication to improvement and committment to the team is great, as I am sure it is with all of the top teams. Don't know how you can get that on a team you know will end at U14!

High School Teams

It really just varies from team to team and year to year. Drama and changes every year. With my kids, we have merged teams from different clubs in high school and had a good experience. We have also changed clubs and it works out. We have the opportunity to meet more people and make new friends. We have worked with several clubs and it depends more on the coach and the team than the club. High school players do drop out for reasons stated. THUSC lost most of their now U18 team when they hit high school a couple years ago, and they were a really good team. It can happen to any club. There will be other tryouts in November and opportunities. If a player is interested, they should contact different coaches.
