    Tournaments

What are the best tournaments in the Portland Area. I want the top competition for my money.

    Thanks

Lake Oswego gets some of the best out of town competition.
WSM runs a tournament in July
United Cup can get some good teams from Seattle

Sometimes the web sites have past results and you can see who was there last year.

definitely, check past results to get an idea of who attends. Usually teams often continue to attend tournaments year after year. And while one tournament may have an overall reputation, that could vary within age groups.

My general 2 cents for local tournaments and competition is United Cup and Oswego Nike Cup...for girls. No idea on boys.

Definitely not the best competition.......... But they do have the "self proclaimed" best scheduler....yes the same one OYSA contracted.

Your price is wrong on Oswego Cup, it has jumped to $750

Lake Oswego usually lists who is committed to the tournament fairly early.

FC Portland cup regularly gets teams from washington nationals, crossfire and northern cali. Tough tourney for U12 girls

Like mentioned above the Lake Oswego cup gets some really good teams. If the games are played at the polo fields don't wear any clothes you care about and do not wash your car that place is a dust bowl. They give good effort to contol dust, just to large of area to do so. Make sure to carry some cash to pay for parking also, this really causes traffic jams and slow downs. The Lo cup 2 thumbs up for quaility of teams and 2 thumb down if you play at the polo fields. Just my 2 cents

                            FC Portland Cup

My daughter's team quit going several years ago because of the exceedingly poor competition. Check it out carefully before going. I am not aware of the boy's side of it.

I agree. We went one year and there were not enough teams in our bracket (girls) we had to play up. All the teams up were B teams. (girls side again)

LO probably gets the best teams, but like the previous poster said logistics are not great. Though they may be better for older teams
