Geography wise it simply doesn't make sense for us, as we live in Sandy. Being a single and working professional mother there is no way for me to pull that off. For now we will likely stick with ESUFC. They are making some good changes this year with coaching and a push on the girl's side of the club. Not our team's coach as he is finishing up his first year with the girls and he has been great.

If we did come then for a name I might go with the unregistered like you :). There seem to be alot of Sodium haters out there!!

I would never feel bad if my daughter bumped another girl from a team. It is what it is. As for my curiousity it also stems in the fact that I would love to see others tryout for ESUFC if it makes sense for them.
I will say thanks a lot of starting all of this cuz now I have to post! :)
Well I will say my kid is at the bottom of Sodiums poll chain. For the nasty poster about knowing what is what, I will say they tend to be wrong. For any of the players guest playing at anything, it is what it is, that is a perfect statement. Each player has to ALWAYS be at their best play, simply put. Yes you will get bumped if the coach see's it as the best suitable situation for the team's sake. Do I want my kid bumped, of course not. Do I like the team, of course! Does my kid, sure! Will that make her play harder at try out's, we'll see what happens.
I don't recall any of us "bottom" players as the other person puts crying to any other person on our team or other. I think you are making things up along as you go. For the 19th guest player, she is amazing and I am sure she will make the team. How and why as to her coming, that isn't for me to question. We all have to realize at the end of the day it is up to the coach, and we are simply the parents.
I will throw it out there that I suppose if worse case we could give ESUFC a sneak peak if poor kid doesn't make the team again? But preference is not since that is a long drive!

Top 2 teams everyone wants to join all-of-a-sudden:

      1. THUSC Sodium
      2. ESUFC Arsenal

No other teams worth joining apparently.

I think there are more than two great clubs out there!!!!!

I do think that ESUFC and FC Portland and Westside within the metroplex do a fantastic job of developing players, and potentially not so great on the recruiting side. Anyone who wants to play on the east side of the river should at least look at ESUFC. The coaching is fantastic from the director Gavin Wilkinson and the director of boys coaching Jim Ridell and the director of girls coaching Justan Wolvert to a impressive line up of division one college, 6A High School and just damn good coaches.

At least on our team we have great parents and the girls are truly nice. It is a good fit if it makes sense geography wise. I would love to see new talent come to our club to tryout!!!

Sounds like two good U14G from OC are guest playing for Westside.

I wonder if that's because West Side Metros is in the OPL and Oregon City is not (just checked on OPL web site). Maybe they want to play against better competition? Just a guess.

No. It just depends on what you are looking for.

If your expectation is the money you pay to the club is simply to allow your daughter to play on the team and you have to pay more money for individual outside development just to keep up, then by all means wish for it.

However, if you want your club dues to pay for your daughter's further soccer development then that may not be the right thing to wish for.

Or if you would like your daughter on a State contender and an ODP elite then you may want to join Thusc as well!

Or, if you do indeed want your daughter on a state contender or with ODP elites, you could also join the other top clubs. They all offer that!

Agreed but they are not the ones getting slammed. Since Thusc won 4 titles they get the brute of the bashing. We'll have to see who the mob moves onto next year. I'm hoping it's still Thusc because that'll mean they're still on top!

Again it all comes down to the fact that the parents within in THUSC org or DOC are tooting horns of themsel.... errr their daughters. No other club boasts and then retailiates as much as THUSC does.

How many titles did they win last year?

I believe that was the entire point. People have to slam what's currently on top. WSM has been slammed for years because their boys program is so sucessful. All you used to hear about was how the only reason they were successful is because they let the Mexicans play for free. Now it just happens to be Thusc's turn. Everyone will turn their backs on some other club soon enough. People need something to complain about. It's easier than working hard.

                              Again people do not complain....

THUSC just wants to toot their horn when they are on top and other clubs do not. This brings on more attacks to THUSC and drama to go with it.....

                              blame the cocky parentsass

Most Ignorant post of all time--not to mention borderline Racist

Without argurment Westside Metros most acccomplished team in their History The Internationals and arguably Oregon's most successful team (boys or girls) at a state /regional level/national level with 1 Region IV semis, 2 region IV finals appearances 1 Region IV Title and 1 Nationl Final 4 and 6 OYSA titles. THUSC doesn't even compare as a entire club to just this one team, BTW Internationals had one hispanic player in the last 5 years= ho was their back up GK a non-scholarship player from Corvallis.

THUSC Being exposed (for what they are) as a club who recruits entire teams to get a winner and soliciting every exceptional player they can from Oregon and SW Washington to consider joining is M.O.

Please don't bring WSM or any other club regarless of stature into your issues or tendencies and then then drag Mexicans (sic) into this discussion. Having an opionion is your right, but being ignorant is not en excuse
