I think most mocking brown for being so liberal haven't been on a college campus lately.

That's pretty standard these days anywhere.

And if you guys really think UF is better than the majority the more well-known out of state schools you guys are drinking the kool-aid. Don't get me wrong its not a bad school, but its not any better than any other big university (big alumni base, recognizable name).

If you want to brag about being in an ivy league school, I've got a kid with his MS from Cornell working for me and hes as much of a turd as any of the others with small school or state school educations. Most of the Ivy League kids are successful because they start off with the wealth and network that most of of have to spend the first 10yrs out of school building.

Its all the same in the end, a little resiliency and problem solving will put more icing on that BS than the school name, most of these kids coming out don't have those things.

I blame you. Get off TS and go teach your little runts about life. :D

Agree, they are almost all liberal, just a question of how far gone. The real world will be a wake-up call for many.

Can scholarship money only be provided for four years maximum? Redshirts can be there five years so maybe scholarships can be paid out however long but only four years max of eligibility.

Like football, four regular seasons of eligibility but need a college coach expert to share the secrets of how the scholarships run. Clarify when $ ends, is it available for summer term, when seniors end in Dec is more money available for other players who had been receiving less?

If you can't get into UF but want a top flight education you're going to have to leave the state.
People get with the times. FSU and UCF have medical schools and top graduate programs. UM and USF too.

Same number of scholarships overall for team each year, tough decision to use on a redshirt year, but it can happen. Usually see it on partials. My understanding is that yes, a player leaving in Dec opens up an equal amount for someone else for January.

Redshirts for 5 years to get 4 years of playing happen on a regular basis. Very rare but there are some who get 6 years, special exception requires ncaa approval.

What’s with all these transfers? Football players graduating in 3 1/2 to get Masters elsewhere to use final season of eligibility elsewhere.

in soccer some NT players have been granted exceptions because of their NT responsibilities.

                      1) leveraging football to get a master's degree? nothing wrong with that. I had two D1 players in my MBA program. Smart move in case sports or coaching didn't work out.
                      2) trying to get seen by the pros one last time. Can't blame them there either, even though it probably won't happen

Great opportunity. Look at Gtown transfer from Stanford last season. https://guhoyas.com/news/2018/4/2/Ca...m_in_2018.aspx

D1 players who graduate early from high school and attend in the summers will be on track to do masters the fourth year of eligibility. A lot of these footballers could stay and play D1 and get the masters but instead they transfer for more PT or exposure for the pros.

The article does not say why she wanted to leave Stanford and not pursue the Masters at Stanford. Did Stanford not want her the final year or not play her enough? Did Stanford not give her any scholarship money for her final year? Did Georgetown pursue her with a full scholarship?

Since she was a starter you'd think they'd want her to stay. Finances are between the student and school so it's hard to say. However, it's possible that it's purely based on academics and Gtown had a program she wanted that Stanford did not (or that she could get into). Her undergrad degree is biology and she's studying marketing communications in grad school?

Stanford is obviously a top school but Georgetown is a top 25 and not easy to get into either. Either school would be a dream for most kids. The change in academic disciplines is interesting though.
