The FSPL Division 2 is for really weak clubs, it sort of took the luster off the prestige of the league

    Comment

It would have been great to have strong Regional leagues ( like the best FSPL and NPL teams to play) to reduce travel. Then Region finalists could play each other. The region areas are now watered down and traveling the state every weekend to play good teams is not ideal.

I am the one who is perfectly fine with the way SC is organized this year. I think the seeding with the regional focus of Round 1 Play-in for unseeded teams works perfectly fine. I KNOW that there are unseeded teams that deserve a shot and have proven themselves by getting to the Round of 16. I KNOW that some seeded teams are OVER RATED and they got knocked out in Round 2.

The OP was the one who was whining, saying that it wasn't a "true competition" unless everyone played an equal number of games. With the 1 game/day requirement it was the only way to feasibly fit the tournament in. Either it works the way it did this year, OR (PLEASE NOTE THAT I DON'T THINK THINK THIS IS A GOOD OPTION) you have to restrict entry to 32 teams per age to placate the "everyone should play an equal number of games" crybaby.
The system did work. The unseeded teams in some Regions had to play at least 2 more games than the seeded teams and still made it through. It is obvious in some cases that a GotSoccer ranking does not always mean the team is all that good. It just means they may have used a lot of guest players at tournaments.

Looking at both they usually have the same as any league. A handful of really strong teams that rip the rest and a handful of bad teams that take a beat down from the team in the middle. I see those 5-0 games in both leagues. We played in both this year and this year NPL was stronger for our age. Looking at this years round of 16, if they are coming, FSPL could match it or be better. I am just not a fan of FYSA and how they run things. Very half butt. Ideas are good, but never fully complete the original plans and seems to be for the worst.
FSPL is the better league in terms of quality per age group. If you do not qualify by being top 16 at State Cup you are not in even if every other team in your club is. There are very rare exceptions to this.

In NPL a team can be no better than a rec team but plays NPL because there is no qualifying necessary. If your club is in, you are in. Congrats but not exactly an across the board guarantee of competitive games.

FSPL II offers better than USA does. They still attempt to pick the higher ranked teams for stronger competition. I would say that FSPL II is better, on average, then CDL I.

Not true about the FSPL, the league is littered with teams that didn't make the final 16, in fact, they have expanded the league to include another division. In the past, it was correct that your team had to make the final 16 at State Cup to be included in the FSPL, but this is not the case anymore.

Ok, yeah right, thank you Celtic dad who is trying to justify that you are not allowed into CDL because they suck and trying to say that FSPL 2 is better than CDL, which it is clearly not.

How do the Purple parents feel about this? I bet the ECNL girls played full games.
SB's team had ZERO ECNL players this past weekend or the weekend before. However, ECNL does not mind taking our players for their games this past weekend.

Get over yourself. There are some league 2 teams that are not great but there far too many league 1 teams that are not good. Some because they loaded up on guest players for SC and others because the team fell apart after SC as players move on to DA or ECNL clubs.

There are also plenty of League 1 teams that were placed there politically - ie. they didn't finish in the sweet 16 of SC the prior year but yet we see those refugees doing very well in league 1. Based on your elitist opinion those teams should be terrible.

Personally I'd love to see relegation in FSPL. No matter how well you do in SC if you crapped the bed league play, you go down to league 2.

Everyone mad at ECNL for "taking" or " recruiting" players. Is anyone mad at the players for taking the opportunity to play ECNL?

the FSPL Division 2 is the old USA League Division 1, look at the clubs participating in D2, they were all in USA League in 2014. Watered down garbage soccer, but now more travel.

If you are going to take them, then take them and not screw up our team. Good for the girl
getting the chance but having her play in two games in one day????? Thought OC cared about the players....looks like they care about the result.

i didn't realize that Region A and B teams traveled all the way to Tampa to play USA league games since the abundance of League 2 teams seem to be from those regions...

between both the boys and girls side i see maybe 4 or 5 total former USA league clubs in league 2 and one of those looks like it has advanced to SC round of 16.

You obviously are not from OC and don't have a daughter playing on the team. I do. All the girls enjoy playing with each other. A few ECNL girls do occasionally play with us, and it is no big deal. Varying reasons for this such as easing one of the hurt ECNL girls back into the game or filling in when we have girls hurt ourselves. We also get the opportunity to play up with ECNL to gain experience when they need help. You want to cause grief where non exists. Maybe you should fix your clubs and teams first, before you worry about ours.

OC is losing ECNL next year anyway. The deal is already done and it is coming back home to FKK. ECNL directors have already made the decision and advised both clubs. It will be made public and the conclusion of OC's ECNL season in May.
