hahahaha ! you're kidding right. don't just repeat what your club says, you sound so ignorant. unless you've been told that you don't need a GPA above 2.5, then you are hallucinating. First, signing isn't the finality of any of it, in fact is the start of your legal obligations - not theirs. HS graduation is the first step. If the grades are NOT what your contracts state, then you are heading for an uphill battle, unless you want to sign another contract with the school agreeing to take less or no money. The final step when you know your kid is REALLY a college player is about 3-4 into college, after final drop/add and all financial debts are paid.

Lucky for you it's an anonymous forum. Maybe instead of trying to poke holes in the honest posts of other people trying to offer actual experience you'd be better off to STFU.
lovely post. hopefully your "apple" falls far from the tree. good luck to her.

there are so many posts that do offer advice... ours would be to not commit early. everyone is so afraid of losing their offers. what happens is you commit 1.5-2 years early. All schools back off because of the VERBAL. Grades and health need to be in same condition when you graduate high school 1.5-2yrs down the road. Last year in HS, now she has issues with either grades or health, her college is looking at you now to sign a "different" contract... no one has looked at your kid in 1.5-2 yrs, since you yourself removed them from eligibility. don't let fear push you to commit early.

my kid's team is attending the showcase and we expect it will be a good event, but in the end it will be like CASL last year with opportunities for the girls to watch some of the best college ball in person.

A contract is a contract. The NLI has terms like any other. Of COURSE the athlete has to maintain grades, both in HS and college, to maintain eligibility. That goes without saying. But colleges don't generally waste recruiting time and $s on kids who are shaky academically.

Most coaches want to know about grades first. They know that competition among players is fierce, and there's plenty of smart and talented players to choose from.

There's nothing wrong with committing early if it's the school at the top of your list. Of course, if UCLA is her realistic top choice and she gets an offer from Seminole State then I would agree waiting is a better idea. It all depends on the individual situation.

CASL event is considered to be the premier girls event in the country.

Well over 500 college coaches are registered to attend and recruit.
