The NCAA D-1 rankings shows FSU at #7. Their ranking takes into account strength of schedule. Not that being #7 is a bad ranking but it sure as hell is no #2. I am sure the lack of depth at FSU has been taken into account in that NCAA ranking.

Not that reason or "facts" will make any difference to a Gater but you keep saying that FSU has a lack of depth. Let's look at the last game for both teams just for sake of argument.
FSU v Duke - FSU played 16, 2 over 30 minutes in a 90-minute game.
UF V Tenn - UF played 16 - 1 of which only took a PK - 2 over 30 minutes in a 110-minute + game.

FSU does play it's defense the full 90 most games but the forwards and MFs rotate regularly.

FSU has one loss (yea, we know) and UF has 4 losses and a tie (which the Tenn game goes in the records as).

Looks to me like FSU will be a 1-2 seed with a chance to go their 4th College Cup IN A ROW. UF will be a 2-3 seed with a chance to go to their - wait, how long has it been since they've been to a College Cup?

Maybe all you Gaters can chip in and buy Becky a wardrobe. She looks like a homeless woman.

It is with a heavy heart, but firm conviction that I am choosing to announce my retirement from this thread. We have had a lot of fun and our adversaries have been great sports and competitors. At the start of this journey, I had no idea that the trip would be this long or the competition so worthy.
The demands on my time and a desire to spend more time with family necessitate this decision. I have probably spent an hour posting here and at least half an order of magnitude more time laughing. We have had a great run and I am proud of what we have accomplished during my tenure here. I would like to thank everyone here for being gracious hosts and good sports. To my adversary, I offer compliments on your persistence and I wish you the best of luck in all future endeavors.

To everyone else, friends, colleagues, and family, I suggest that we all keep in mind that stereotypes and generalizations are not just intellectually lazy, they can truly set you up to make the wrong analysis. It is quite possible that this whole thing could have played out with an FSU fan as the antagonist, although far less likely.
In parting, I would also like to thank the great women in the State of Florida that play soccer for all the schools and Universities. We know you all work very hard and we support all you!

I'm not even a UF fan, but that is one more than FSU has (1>0), which is a pretty big deal. By the way didn't Heather Mitts win 3 Gold Medals?

So yes the facts are that UF women's soccer has 1 more national title than FSU has. The facts also show that FSUs career record against UF in women's soccer is 9-12. I'm guessing you don't like those facts.

When FSU wins a national title in soccer then we can all talk and compare facts, until then you would be better off comparing yourself to other women's college soccer programs that have never won "the big one".

Well so you're a real smart one. FSU has less national titles than UF in women's soccer and a worse head to head record. Ok got it!

So then you bring up football on a soccer message board. Ok? Well both UF and FSU have the same amount of national titles in football, but UF leads the head to head record in football. Ok I got it!

Why don't we just bring up UF vs FSU athletic program as a whole and compare how many national championship's each respective school has since clearly your a die hard FSU sports fan?

I've visited Florida a few times and there are about three types of people.
You get the jackarse guys who wear loafers with no socks and walk around air practicing their golf swing. He thinks he's doing well because he has an office job.

Then there are the retired folks and snowbirds. Of course these people spend most of their time drinking coffee and complaining how you can't get good corned beef anymore.

And then you have the Wal Mart shoppers, many of whom have almost half of their teeth and sport clothes that are mismatched. I'm not sure these people work or just spend time filling out unemployment apps.
