Not sure why any FLA parents would be FSU women's soccer fans. The starters don't speak English. Hell they can't even speak to each other they are from so many different countries. Our tax $$ at work.

Well, it did not take long for xenophobia to rear it's ugly head.

Fact is two starters are from other countries and they do speak English in Ireland. That leaves one from Iceland.

You are bringing political candidates into a soccer discussion ? Anyways the other poster does make a good point. About 30% of fsu's roster is foreign players.
They are a great team but I think most people regardless

Since you mentioned a figure I decided to check it out and you are essentially correct. Of 22 players on roster 8 (36%) are from FL, 7 (32%) are from other states and 7 (32%) are international.

I disagree that "most people" have an issue with this which is why I called the previous poster's comment xenophobic. This is my school and I feel that Mark has put together the best team he can to win the elusive national championship. Perhaps his feeling that he needs to go international to do that says something about the culture of women's soccer in FL??

The best female players in the world are here in the usa. They may not want to attend fsu but that's up the schools to convince them. If the foreign players are not on scholarship then I am fine with it. They pay there way. Look, this isuue is happening in many sports at many colleges not just fsu. We are paying for foreign students to play sports and displacing our own citizens??? Would you pay for a foreign child to get there education in place of your own child.....I think not. ....regardless of there athletic abilities. This is just another example of how far colleges will go to win. Mark will do whatever it takes and i understand that.

However i still bet the majority of America disagree's with foreign players here on our scholarship dollars.

I'm an OC parent and I agree, he should be banned from the site. Also that might encourage his daughter to think about passing the ball every once in a while if he wasn't there coaching her every minute.
