So your solution is to strike. You are upset, so your solution is to prevent your kids from playing soccer. And if you were to convince enough people to join you and games are cancelled, you prevent other people's kids from playing soccer. Punish the kids because you didn't get your way. You seriously need to grow up. You shouldn't throw a temper tantrum every time you don't get what you want. Most people grow out of that by the time they are four years old.
You are already aligned with Unfairness Academy.
It is alright for you to be aligned with discrimination and unfairness and claim to be rational?
Unfair player practice strikes, in protest of an club's committing an unfair player practice
Have you heard about Sympathy strikes?
Well, it is upto OC to think about MLS good start. The timing.
If community/home club is not important, then keep ignoring us.

And if you are with OCYS, I'm sure that most of the people with your team will be ecstatic if you go on strike.

Now I believe the issue is all the kids getting the same amount of training. I have older kids too and I know for years that certain teams practice more than other teams but now that someone has organized that effort, people are complaiining. If we go back to a system where just certain teams practice sporadically more than others, is that ok?

It has always happened as you get certain coaches who are just willing to put in more time regardless of the pay. Now there is a group of kids who getting more training on an organized schedule. Some of these teams were already practicing 3 days a week because of who they had as a coach. You didn't hear complaints about that last year. Everybody wants equality but I don't think the club is robbing Peter to pay Paul, I just think it is now publisized. If the pro team runs the program and it is no longer considered a youth program, would this change the complaints like it did with Da?
Principle is: Equal value for the money paid. Equal services throughout the professionally run youth program. Transparent policies. Accountability.
Current practices are too open for individual opinions, interpretations and coach specific manipulations. Standardized approaches will help us all to benefit on a big picture, both at rec level and at MLS/DA/ECNL and state cup teams level.
If you have state cup teams competing with other clubs state cup teams, why it is not fair to get same level/time of training comparing to the top clubs/teams of the state?
That way, we have done our best effort. Most likely you may be able to look good because you may find material suited for DA just because of giving that necessary training opportunity.

It is using publicly funded facilities. Not PRIVATE!
It is my club hence I have to play there! You are HIRED to run it, it is not your family owned business yet. If you cannot run it to our satisfaction, you can leave.
WE determine all kids need to practice more days because they all pay the same fees!
Send an e-mail to all your club families stating you will refund full fees if we do not agree with your fee structure and practice schedule. We will then go away.
Just go ahead and do that.
Your belief that a non-profit youth soccer club must follow the wishes of its players' parents is quite simply false. A youth soccer club must only follow its own bylaws, the decisions of its board of directors and the applicable laws of this country, this state and its community.
Unlike public school students who live in a geographical district, your children can tryout for more than one club and, so long as its required fees are paid and rules are followed, play at any club which will accept them.
Based on your complaints, no youth soccer club will refund your fees and, depending upon your willingness to forfeit those fees, you might as well start looking for a new club for this year or next.

But there are more to these issues, complicated to explain on a blog.
When the time comes, let the professinally qualified people decide on what rules and what over rules. We all can have opinions and try to justify some poorly judged actions.
There is NOT a SINGLE government document will support UNFAIRNESS and DISCRIMINATION. Be my guest and show some supporting verbiage.

Merely saying that providing an unequal number of training days and hours to players who pay the same fee is UNFAIR (which it may be) and DISCRIMINATORY (which under certain circumstances it could also be) doesn't translate into a valid claim against the club. So..... making use of the club bylaws, any club contracts with any governmental entities, any club contracts with its members or any federal, state or local governmental constitutions or laws, be our guest and lay out your best case against this club.
While I do appreciate that you truly feel an unequal number of training days and hours for players who pay the same fees is unfair and discriminatory, I don't believe that disparity constitutes an actionable claim against this or any other club and I do believe you have been beating a dead horse for quite some time now.

Lights
My biggest concern with OCYS at present is the lack of lighting at training (when not rained out). I can't see my kids on the fields near the end. I am new to Orlando. We had lighted fields where We came from. Is it normal to train in the dark here?

We are very advanced in our thinking when it comes to training.
