People are so crazy, OC has done a great job for my kid and I am tired of reading this crap. You can always meet someone who doesn't like a club for whatever reason so get over it. I live OC and don't have anything bad to say but neither do I have something bad to say about where you are, it is called right to choose.

You can tell from OC tournament attendances plus the coalition that there is a boycott in place. The question is if OC decided tomorrow that they wanted to change their ways and re-establish themselves in the Orlando community how should they go about it.

Suggestions for things they should start doing as well as things they should stop doing would be appreciated.
Nothing. The other clubs don't want them to be successful because OCYS is a threat to their existence. They realize that if OCYS is successful, they will draw many of the better players. So they will find something to "boycott" about regardless of what OCYS does.

Not trying to be sarcastic, but there are several people who want to be the big club in town, and they think there is only room for one. The reason the other club merged with OCYS to start with was because they thought they would be in control of the big club.

If OCYS enters all of their teams, you say, "Their tournament is nothing but an inter-club scrimmage." But if OCYS only enters one team per age group, you will say, "Their teams don't even support their own tournament." If they only enter their top teams, you will say, "They don't care about developing the lower level teams. They won't even let them play in their own tournament." If they only enter the lower level teams, you will say, "Their top teams don't support their own tournament. They know they have to go somewhere else to get real competition."

My son plays for OCYS. His coach doesn't have an English accent. He has experience. He cares about my child. He is teaching him how to play soccer. He's having fun and loves the game.

You obviously don't know what you are talking about.

Easy way by which other clubs can attract players.......ready..... have at least 3 days of practice.

All teams other than DA only practice twice a week at OC. Over time as players find themselves not making DA they will move to other clubs who provide more value and more training. Over time OC teams will also begin to suffer as players leave and those that stay just don't get enough training.

Purple lions, seeing Kaka, a couple tickets here and there are not enough to keep the player.

Not in the Orlando market but you can read all the negativity and jealously of the OCYS club. It's understandable but at the same time parents and coaches with talented kids should be thankful. They have the opportunity to hand-off young soccer stars to a fully funded MLS DA academy. The next closest MLS DA academies is in DC till Atlanta gets one. Do you know how blessed Orlando is to have that available, not to mention the MLS team itself. I include coaches from other clubs too because they know its in the best interest of youth players pursuing the dream of a professional career to transition to OCYS by U13.

Its disappointing but not surprising that grown adults as parents, coaches and DOC's would put their own interests and negativity in front of the kids potential to pursue a dream. The boycott will continue, its just the way it is.

ACDC is 350 teams and well end up with around 400. So I guess about 7000 kids and about 14000 parents/friends/ family must be choosing the wrong event to go to and the 20 teams outside of OC must have the right idea.

OC is and always will be propaganda. The Orange County leaders figured it out and the Seminole leaders are blind. Talk about meeting the requirement for hotel beds. They will not meet it and the Seminole leaders will not do anything about it. They will not go after the money. Phil will talk his way out of it as he always does.

OC, staff and all coaches are all a joke! Crap on the grand heap of crap.

Stay away as your kid will end up with nothing!

Is it true that FH has already left OC as a coach?

You're right, you can always meet a few people unhappy with any club. The difference is that OCYS creates HUNDREDS. they've raised it to an art form.

I'm in Orlando, and I see just the opposite. Sure, OCYS cares about it's DA and MLS, but the youth soccer program is little more than lip service to the needs of the community. If it weren't for the fact that 1000 youth players and their families can be funneled into ticket and t-shirt sales, there'd be little reason for the youth club at all.

Typical arrogance from the Purple Lion. OCYS doesn't give a damn about the community and grass roots players, so you rationalize that "it wouldn't work anyway".
