I've got news for u. Talent does not = success. True, the capital letters will bring in talent but how does this club foster, improve, and champion this talent. You have this notion that if you get all the talent, you'll get all the wins. The problem with that line of thinking is that every other DA and ECNL clubs attract equally good or better talent. Do think for one minute that other clubs all over the country haven't reloaded as well. Bottom line is that the additions to OC via recruiting, discovery players, etc will have an impact but for folks to say we're the best is a stretch.

Rather be losing games in ECNL than losing games in FSPL. The point is to train and compete at the highest level. OC is providing that opportunity and the top players in central florida have jumped on the bandwagon. Nobody said they'll get "all the wins".

What I can tell you is that OC will continue to attract top talent. Another ODP star joined the team today. If you weren't there, you missed some jaw dropping as yet another blue chip player donned the purple. This will continue. That much is true. The club will continue to attract the best. When one goes down with an injury, there will be several waiting to take her place. So go ahead and take your shots now. Your constant rants about goal differentials and past records is getting tiresome. This year will be improved as will next and so forth. In 5-years, people will not even remember 2013. In 10-years people will laugh at you when you try and run down the talent and success on this club. Very soon every developing 10-13 year old player will aspire to play for OCYS DA or ECNL regardless of where they live and which uniform they currently wear. So it does not matter what happens this year. It does not even matter what happens next year. All that matters is the best players keep coming to play for DA and ECNL teams. The rest will take care of itself.

I agree for DA and ECNL part. It is a given. That brand is not exactly established by OC but by the National standards and OC is priviledged to host that program on behalf of all the local communities.

Is that program growing and attracting and retaining talent? What OCYS offers that makes them that much special? That is the approach OCYS can take for RIGHT NOW. Right attitude and fostering growth culture will enable your even rec teams to beat the S..t out of these winers down the road.

No. OCYS cannot do that because it sounds like too much work. That can throw other surrounding clubs too much to handle.

OC gained players for the most part because of the way FCA was run last year with essentially no home fields. That and some other FCA issues forced those players to make a change, if they didn't have those problems and it was like the club of a couple years ago most would still be there.

i like the subtlety of that- but taking second-tier talent and putting a pink patch on their shoulders results in 100+ goal differential and bottom-of-the-table seasons. Just because a team plays "high level competition" does not make that team "high level"- but you cant tell that to Mom and Dad, who assume being picked for ECNL must mean little Mia is da best!

OCYS has more "A" licensed coaches than any other team in the region. Quit poking holes and just accept facts. We are the destination for elite soccer.
