We were recently notified that one of our off-site facilities, Champions Gate, will be charging $10.00/day/vehicle for parking at the fields. Champion Gate guests parking or staying at the Resort will not be charged at the field, they will have a parking ticket from the hotel that will allow them to park at the fields at no charge.
The $10.00 fee is good for the whole day in case you will be attending more than one match at the facility. You will receive a ticket on the first admission please be sure you have it with you if you are planning on returning to the facility.
The parking staff will not have the ability to accept credit cards at the fields. If you do not have cash you will be directed to park in the hotel lot which has the ability to accept them. Just be advised that there is around a 300 yard walk from the hotel to the fields.
We look forward to a great weekend of soccer.

I have had just one experience at Disney. The kids walking up to the ESPN Globe is awesome for a first timer. My parents and I paid $37 each for the privilege of watching our kids play for the weekend. Ok,sure, but it's not like the sports complex offer a whole lot of extras.
Some will say the fields are great. I am fortunate enough that my kid's home fields are excellent playing surfaces. So Disney fields actually left something to be desired. The first game field was great, but we literally had parents taking sand from the area next to a fennec to fill, not exaggerating, 4 inch deep sprinkler holes. We, meaning both team parents, brought the concern up to the referee well before the match and his response was "we have to start on time." So both team's parents helped in filling the ankle breaking holes before the match.
Second match was on an off site field. Can't remember the name of it now, but it was a slightly below average pitch. Quite sandy, but at least it didn't have pot holes like the first.
The third game was back at Disney. No sprinkler traps, but it was obvious that they had laid sod the week before so there were uneven, raised and lower strips across the field. But they had a cool mouse head in the grass on the slope behind the field so it was kind of cool. And a lot of teams only got one game at Disney and played at two offsite location. We lucked out and had two. (Which means we payed more than it would have cost to pay individual day passes.
So, yea, it's a great experience. But after the first time, it's a rip off. Especially if you only play one out of the first games at the Disney fields. And they obviously cut corners and weren't totally prepared anyways. Add the cost of a soda at Disney fields, the long line to get in, the higher cost of are hotels... It all equals Disney wins, parents lose.
They charge more than almost all tournaments for registration fees, more at Concession. Plus parking. Lol. Even the t-shirts cost more. Add in the "discounts"'for staying at their over priced resorts? It's a scam. But god bless them, it's what they are best at.

Lets give every player a medal and a trophy for failing to perform and lets make sure to tell them they did a great job and encourage them to play a sport that they do not have the brain or athleticism to play.
Grow up a little son. You may eventually get your own self worth from a grown up level than through a youth sport. It's ok though if your kids is still in the junior ages. If so, you still have time to grow as an adult. Best of luck to you.

Don't you know its the 2000 that will play VS the 1998/1999
and that the 2001 will play the 2000/20001
Oh yea--You don't because you must be with that club that said we could care less about womens soccer. We are now proving everyone wrong. We do care and are proving it.

Missing the Point
Should have pointed this out earlier..............
Your son/daughter wants to play on a state cup team.
Great if your son or daughter is skilled enough, but a lot are not.
What happens far too often in FL is that parents get involved and start shuffling their kids around from club to club to find someone willing to take their money just to say johnny and suzieQ are on a state cup level team. If your kid loves the sport and wants to play but clearly is deficient in higher playing ability or skills there is nothing wrong with that player participating in Recreational soccer. If they love it that much and get better then they can earn their position on a higher level team. Too many teams in FL are turning into Pay to Play.
Originally posted by Unregistered View PostI was with you on the not giving medals to everyone that plays. You are a bigger loser than even the worst youth soccer player merely on the basis that you are old enough to know better but don't.
