Surely they'll give him another year to get his act together. Development takes time.

      Petition?

Did anybody save the names from the petition last year? I can't wait to see how many show up at tryouts tonight.

You mean the ones who were winning two State Cup Titles this weekend? Or the 34
that are attending College? Nice try.

Actually the fees are posted, I believe that they went up a little.

I guess the ones in college wouldn't be going to tryouts, and maybe those U17's are still hanging onto HM's apron strings. The U15's and 16's though, how many of those are rethinking ECNL now?

Why should you care. You dismissed them all calling them failures and malcontents. You don't need them since you have hundreds coming out. If my child were going to the ECNL tryouts I would be asking about training and who will be there on a consistent basis. I would also ask how many current u17s are committed and to what schools. If you don't see what you are lookin for in those two categories, you should look elsewhere. I would also ask about the number of girls they have placed in advanced programs like id2 and ODP in the last year. Ask what they plan to do to help your daughter. They are very good at the sales pitch but if their answers don't have substinance and they can't give hard provable examples, you should think twice about another club.

We get it, you don't like OC and don't want to play there. That is fine and your choice. But this argument you use is so false. The girls earn they way onto a college team the club doesn't "get it for them". Now, a club and the coaches can help for sure. So the real question is where will my daughter get seen by the most college coaches in a competitive environment? ECNL is a path to that, not the only path, but it is the path that increases a girls chances of playing at the next level.

Didn't say I disliked OC. Just posing legit questions. If you choose to stick your head in the sand then great. Just saying you owe your daughter the respect of asking questions.
I will agree that ECNL is a fantastic program. My point is that just getting seen is not enough. Your child will need help and I hope she receives it.

What's to "rethink"? Why would they look at ECNL as attractive at OCYS? You had a poor showing in ECNL, your program put fewer girls through to college, and to small local schools (not bashing the athletes- these are just facts), you had a record-setting goal differential in the weakest conference, your coaching is a revolving door.

This illustrates the fundamental flaw in your program- you seem to think the only thing that matters is the Pink Patch and the word "Elite" in the title. You folks constantly harp about "600 coaches" watching the games, yet you fail to realize that 600 coaches watching a poor program is useless.

No, I think the OPPOSITE is what may happen- more families will choose to avoid OCYS, realizing that there's precious little time to waste on a flawed program. If OCYS would focus on FIXING the problem rather than pretending it doesn't exist, you might have a chance at recovery.

I think this coupled with the fact that they are waiving all fees for "some girls" in order to get them to come to the club would be enough for many to steer clear. If you doubt what I say ask around especially to the new "better players " ask your ECNL coaches if this is the case and when they stutter you'll know the truth. The chosen few will be fee free and paid for by the others in the club. I would be a little upset if I were paying for my daughter if others are not, and I'm not talking about people who can't afford it , its ones who can. Ignorance is bliss.

There were a lot of girls at ECNL tryouts tonight. Definitely enough at U14 and U15 to make good teams.

Some very interesting faces out there at ECNL try-outs. Very interesting indeed.

Very interesting turnout tonight. Looks like the parents are not reading TS and making their own decisions on ECNL.

I guess the workouts with UNF were not enough to persuade them to skip ECNL try-outs.
