I think it looks more like desperation. There's plenty of great players and great coaches in Orlando, the problem is the Directorship drove a bunch of them away, and now they have no choice but to recruit players from 50+ miles away just to make competitive teams. Same thing with the part time coaches from colleges that might show upa couple hours a week.

Is OCYS the only ECNL club that recruits from 50+ miles away?

WFF certainly seems to have done a better job getting the U17's verbally committed given that they both have the ECNL platform.

OCYS needs to do everything possible to improve and I can't fault them for trying to get better.

Totally agree but the problem I see is that they changed the location and brought in a couple of part time coaches. The rest of the staff remains mostly the same and that's the same staff that produced the dismal results this year. They can recruit but can they develop?

The FIT head coach seems to be well liked: FIT will benefit with a track to recruiting from the ECNL and the ECNL program will be more alluring for the Space Coast and Tsunami pool of players.

It is. OC is far from perfect, but they offer much better opportunities for the top youth soccer talent in the area than anywhere else. OC could cure cancer and these trolls would find fault with it. It really is simple, look at the options your child has and make the best decision for THEM. If its not OC that's ok, but why all the negative on both sides. I choose OC because it provides my son with the best opp to realize his goals. Doesn't make me not like FKK or the people in the club.

What good is recruiting if you can't even get the kids your recruit to play as a unit. The only teams that had success are the two where the core came over together. The teams that were put together never gelled. Some of that is on the players the rest is on the coaches.

Yep OCYS basically just insinuated that the current crop isn't good enough and insulted all the current OCYS ECNL players with that comment IMO.

Brandon is more than half the distance to ECON. Not likely that many players from Lakeland will choose OCYS unless they didn't make the WFF team.

Why would you want to be part of OC and ECNL? The current U13 pre-ECNL will be a shell of what it was last year. New players will be replacing current players. Were the current players not good enough? If the rising U14 team keeps the 7-9 players that were already offered a spot, the current Orlando area players will not touch that team with a 10 foot pole. Too much posion. Understand OC, this group of players and parents are not worth the pain.

No way my daughter trys out for that team. Could she make it, possibly but why endure that crap for a season.
