Didn't the first year at OCYS they had 2 teams for some age brackets? How do registration numbers stack up compared to last 2 years as trying out and registration are two different things? The more girls that play the better as I would definately like to see girls soccer in central Florida improve as that's the goal.

Bottom line is the Orange County Commissioners saw through the English BS power grab, and you guys were defeated. You can try any reinterpretation of the facts that makes your wounds feel better, but it won't change where you are right now on this issue : beaten.
You are the one who is deflecting, obfuscating, and changing the subject. I never claimed that OC won. If fact, I admitted that they lost. That has been a settled issue for about a month now. You said that no one was preventing OC from providing any program they want. I posted a quote from the Coalition that says that they in fact do oppose OC providing free programs even if they are at the local schools. I proved your statement to be incorrect. You refuse to admit you were wrong. And you refuse to admit that your club and the Coalition are opposed to OC providing these programs, because you know their position is indefensible. Your response is, "Yeah, well we won." Great, you won. Congratulations. I understand why the clubs don't want OC to have access to the fields. But they are also opposed to OC providing free programs for underprivileged kids at the schools. That isn't spin - that is exactly what they said. They didn't say, "If you let them run some programs on the fields, you should also pay us to run some programs in the schools." They said, "Don't let them run programs on the fields, and if you want the programs, they should be held at the schools, and you need to pay us to implement them." So the Coalition responded to OC's power grab with a power grab of their own. You know that was a dirtbag move by the Coalition, which is why you continue to try to deflect attention from it.

I really like these long drawn out explanations. I think you should post them over and over. As for me, I'll stick to the simple facts:

        1) Orlando City made a grab for authority over numerous fields all over Orange County
        2) 10 youth clubs banded together to oppose the move.
        3) The Orange County Commission agreed with the Coaliton.
        4) Phil and OC retreated.

        Comment

          5) The coalition has not done a damn thing to bring soccer to poor children; not at schools nor at public fields
          6) Soccer has not grown one child because it is still a sport of the privileged in Central Florida

Hope you are proud of yourselves you self-entitled bunch of jerks. Now got jack up your fees for 2014-15 so you can pad your pockets.

If you wouldn't ignore the facts, I wouldn't post them over and over. I'll make it more concise. You still can't admit you were wrong, and you are still avoiding the fact that your club and the Coalition opposes OC providing free soccer programs to underprivileged kids at the schools. You won't even address the issue because you know the Coalition's position is indefensible.

The coalition has plans. Stay tune. No strings attached to what the coalition will do. This no strings approach might change the course of your rambling.

The coalition is simply against OC using 'underprivileged kids' as a body shields for conducting unethical business, and trying to put other local soccer clubs out of business. This is all about uncle Phil's dreams of 10k member youth club. If OC wants to provide free soccer, then reach into uncle Phil's deep pockets and do it, why the continued ask for unfair advantages....oh yah, road to 10k at all cost. By now people should understand what drives the lion, greed, ego, and purple koolaid.

Just so you won't continue ranting that I'm "ignoring the facts":

                    1) We weren't wrong. There's nothing to admit.
                    2) We don't oppose OC providing free soccer- we oppose OC getting "paid" by the County to provide "free soccer"

OC is getting millions of taxpayer $s in this ridiculous "deal". They tried to grab prime field space and times under the guise of providing soccer programs for poor kids. They got busted by the Commissioners. Phil tucked tail and ran.

What could possibly be more "Priveleged" than a millionaire businessman claiming he has "elite programs" that need ever more prime field times and locations as he tries to build a 10,000 member club?

Don't forget the multi millionaire will be asking for another $30 million soon.

Oops we underestimated the cost. Better to ask for forgiveness then permission the first time going.

Who owns the naming rights to stadium?

Who benefits from all other stadium profits?

                        Consessions, concerts and parking.

Our politicians have a history of making stupid deals for our city.

So if the Citrus bowl is good enough for World Cup and national team games and we are spending millions in tax revenue to renovate why not just use the citrus bowl. Paint it purple buddy and let's move forward.

"These programs, if implemented, should be held on school grounds and existing clubs within 15 miles of the schools should be given the opportunity to provide these programs."

You said no one was preventing OC from providing any program they want. This quote says the Coalition opposes OC providing these programs, even if they are done at the schools. You were wrong, and you are still wrong. If the programs are implemented, they don't want OC to provide them. They want to provide them (if they are paid).

The Coalition doesn't just oppose OC getting "paid" to provide free soccer through the use of the fields. The Coalition also opposes OC providing these programs even at the schools. Not at the fields. At the schools. And the Coalition says that they should be paid to provide "free soccer."

This goes beyond the use of the fields, and that is what you refuse to admit. I already said I understand why the Coalition was opposed to the use of the fields. But they are also opposed to OC providing free programs for poor kids at the schools. You can continue to ignore that fact, but that doesn't make it any less of a fact.

No facts! You can't read! All conjecture and no facts. OC go provide free soccer. Go for it, fact.

Look, you can continue this silly campaign all you want. You can write thousands of lines trying to convince people that the 10 clubs in the coalition hate poor kids. That only makes you a long winded fool.

-OC and Phil made a grab for control over Orange County soccer fields
-Ten local clubs banded together to oppose them
                                - the County Commission saw through the scheme
-OC and Phil threw in the towel to avoid a public relations debacle.
