But now I want him to learn to play soccer and he is where he needs to be.
Your kid's been "identified" as a key player with potential to play at the next level.

Do as you wish, Dad. Just be aware that 100's of others have heard the exact same sales pitch from the Gypsy for YEARS. the only one messing with your head is your kid's coach.

Wow, you are really bitter. I have never heard those words but I have watched him coach and comparing to the options, it is where my kid will be if he makes the team. I have read he might not be an older age coach but I am looking for the best coach for my kid in his years that soccer development takes place. When he is older, we will evaluate then. I also hope for DA but I think it will only get tougher to make.

Don’t mistake bitter for factual……people are telling you their experiences. If you don’t agree with those stay with your assessment ….but buyer beware

I'm not bitter at all. I'm just telling you what 100s of kids and families have experienced. The Gypsy is known for dangling the fancy words in front of starry-eyed parents and players. He talks a great game, and he'll name off a few players he claims to have "developed". He'll use all the right words and phrases.

If you're truly interested in your kid developing the essential skills that are necessary to play at the DA level, don't depend on the Gypsy. Go get a second opinion from another coach and get your boy working independently.

Good luck. (And I mean that).

And I mean this, may son Is older than u12 and I don't even know who you are describing. If you are trying to dissuade someone of trying out for his teams, I get what you are trying to accomplish but you are in no way helping a child by doing what you are doing except trying to better your own team or club. I don't know who he takes credit for, never heard that either. If you are implying that he has put some time into a team of u14 players, then I would say he had some influence there but I would say you assume that to be the case.

His team this year was made up of average players, no superstars as they all left to DA or elsewhere. What did he do to these kids this year for development? Are they much better than at start? Not so sure!!!

Well he had the previous team for years including those that left for DA.

Did OC DA team drop another match this weekend. Average division compared to rest of country. 5th place in an average division

The story is the same as last year. They recruit the best players and ruin them. The coaching turnover will be large again this year. I feel sorry for the ones playing for ML.

The answer would be HM and the board at FKK. They are the ones that decided to locate the home fields within 15 miles of OC. 5 miles pops. 5 miles and FYSA would have been yours. HM could not stand to give up turf and decided to take on the rules he knew all too well. 5 miles. Many of your problems would have been avoided had you just moved east 5 miles. Your arrogant and entitled leaders are the reason you have no FYSA affiliation.

I can just imagine how that meeting will go...
Hunter's Creek: We have fields. Sorry can't do free clinics for poor kids because the homeowners won't allow guests on the fields.

ACYS: We have fields. Anyone wishing to play free soccer can fill out a scholarship plan. If it is God's will, they will get free soccer

GOU: We have fields and we are not in Orange County so we don't need to give free clinics to poor kids.

Deltona and St. Cloud: Here, Here. We second that.

Rush: We have fields and are in Windermere and Winter Garden. We would love to help poor kids but can't find any, however, if any parent's lose their job, they can apply for a scholarship for their child as long as they agree to volunteer 1000 hours for the club.

SOS: We will hold try-outs....errr...I mean free clinic at Conway Middle School to help the poor kids of Belle Isle.

Maitland: We defer to FKK. They make all our decisions for us. But we may win a state cup this year putting our name on their teams!

FKK: We have fields and been doing Fun Fridays at shopping malls hoping to meet some poor families and teach their kids soccer essentials like paying a membership in a club with no FYSA affiliation. Next week we will be holding friendlies at our fields so our parents will quit complaining about not having league play this spring. We are happy to offer free instruction to any child who is talented enough to make our Black team.
