Not for the competitive team. Not for the rec program. FREE SOCCER for poor youth. How dare OC take away our precious fields....well, they are not our fields yet. OC has to build them first. But then they should be ours so we can run our competitive and rec programs we get paid to operate. How dare they try and come in here and run free starter programs. The NERVE!

RT is such a moron. Literally a paranoid, misinformed moron. He does not find out what OC is planning to do with the time they requested on the fields they build. RT, you are the one who is doing the land grab on the fields we build. You are the greedy club.
So FKK wants to block OCYS from using the new fields for underprivileged youth? I thought they were supposed to be a "community-oriented" soccer club. All those poor kids can just play on whatever field might be available at the local elementary school. I'm sure the local schools have good, quality soccer fields, right? Should we save the good fields and all of the prime practice and game times only for the families who are able to pay?

It is not just FKK. SOS, FCA and Rush have all reached out to Commissioner Stewart's office. What are they so twerked about? More than likely these fields will be in the poorest neighborhoods. Do you think any Commissioner is going to endorse building new parks in Winter Park, Windermere, Bell Isle and Oviedo?

I am sure any of these club's members would love to drive to Pine Hills for practice.

More losses at ECNL Dallas. It is time to clean house. Coaches and players. All overrated. Get a defense ECNL. You all suck.

Ocys wants to control not only the new fields, but to have the first rights to all fields in Orange County....that is the issue...they are trying the slam it all in the same pork barrel. Control the fields, stamp out competition...mission #1 for youth corporate soccer.

Sorry, but the article doesn't say that. If existing fields are the issue, then why aren't existing fields mentioned in the article? If that is your issue, then you aren't making your argument very well.

"In return for $20 million in county stadium funding, the team agreed to pay $3 million over 15 years to help run new community athletic fields, plus expand youth soccer locally. But as part of that deal, the team wants to secure prime playing times on those new fields to run its outreach programs."

"Mayor Teresa Jacobs and her top staffers rebuffed that request, saying all sports leagues deserve a shot to play on any new fields..."

"Meanwhile, competing youth-soccer leagues see the team's push to lock down prime times on any new fields as a bullying tactic."

"So the team has taken its fight to county commissioners, who will also have a say on a final agreement that releases the county's $20 million in stadium funds and settles how the new public fields are used."

"In documents circulated to commissioners, Orlando City identified certain periods of time it wants on the new fields..."

And finally, "Competing youth-soccer groups are worried that Orlando's new Major League Soccer team is leveraging its annual payout to get preferential access to the new fields."

If competing youth soccer clubs are concerned about access to existing fields, they are doing a horrible job of making their case. Even the question in the poll says, "Who should have dibs on new soccer fields?" I have a hard time believing that if Orlando City was making a push to control access to all fields, that the article wouldn't have mentioned that once. It doesn't even say that anyone is claiming that they are trying to control access to all fields.

Again FKKrazy. Quit taking newspaper articles literally. They are written at a 6th grade level so you can understand. The City owns and operates the new stadium and Orlando City actually pays rent. Why would the City give them $20mm just so they can give it back?

That is about as stupid as operating a youth soccer team that does not play in a league.
Exceptional reply but what about the 3 million. Who has naming rights on stadium. We benefits from consessions or parking. Who benefits when other events happen at stadium.

Orlando City can not be trusted to keep
Any word. Plenty of examples. Orlando city wants control of Central Florida to Tampa and North to Jacksonville. 10/15k thousand kids in purple.

Beat down continues. Heard a college coach fell a sleep watching the OC game. Heard he woke up and thought he was In a bad dream.

Your buying into OC crap. Words like underprivileged are used like tag lines for big business. Just a crazy notion but why not buy a few purple busses and drive the underprivileged right into your complex. Why wait for fields. What's 20 million vs 20 miles. OC let no boundaries step in your way.

No my paranoid little parent, OC does not want to control all fields and they certainly do not want to control your club. So let me make this perfectly clear once and for all:

                          OCYS wants your best players.

That is it. We don't want your club. Your club is yours, you built it. You have the contacts in the community. You have the credibility within your neighborhood. We want you to grow and to continue to promote soccer to all kids. Once those kids are developed into U14 players and they exhibit potential to play nationally, we want them to come play for us.

"But why?" you say. "Why would you take our best?"

Because we can give them a chance to playing on the national stage. We may even get them on the US National team. Wouldn't that be good for your club? Wouldn't you want to say, "Look at little Landon. He started playing soccer on these fields and now he in on the US National Team!"

Of course you could convince little Landy and his parents to stay at your club. But the chances of him ever going beyond state level competition are slim. You don't have the Development Academy. You don't have ECNL. So keep him if you think winning State Cup is all little Landy is capable of doing. Just understand what Landon Donavon said himself when asked about his own soccer development, "There's so many players that I played against at club level that maybe had more talent than me or had more skill, but I was lucky enough to get a chance and lucky enough to make the most of it."

BS. We just want your best players. You can keep the rec players and the field time to train them
