Originally posted by Unregistered View PostAre you new to the conversation? Quite a few players took their ball and headed over to FKK. Totally within their right as the inaugural year at OCYS was pretty bad. Odd thing is that they followed the guy who apparently orchestrated the deal with CFK and ECNL. He did not get rights to ECNL with the new club, FKK, and still does not have some teams in leagues. Yet he is defended to the end as the Godfather of Central Florida Soccer. That is fine. As I said before, time is on our side. Go ahead and count the money raised from the golf tournament, the bake sale, the garage sale and the car wash. It still will not be enough.
What we truly need is a truce and the soccer community to come together. OC will soon be bringing FCA into the club and discussions are going on with SCU as well. Once HM has decided to leave town for greener pastures (read: another club ready to pay his six figure salary) I think the remaining FKK members will see that the best way to get their kids noticed is to fold back into OCYS. There simply is not enough support nor money to keep that pipe dream alive.
Of course, the one nagging thing bothering all FKK parents is why they are not dominating the tournaments as they were promised by HM. The truth is that when you divide the talent base and expect to win, you are asking for too much too soon. The real solution is to attract the best talent to one central club with a pipeline to the pros. Even if a kid is not capable of making MLS or NWSL, they will get the looks from DA and ECNL to play in college.
Of course you can listen to the spinmeisters at FKK desperately clinging to their current U18 class (which came from OCYS ECNL) and buy into their promise of greatness. Before you sign that $1500+ contract with HM, consider that their younger teams are not playing in leagues but the rare and occasional tournament and a few friendlies. Is that worth $1500 to you? Those free summer workouts aren't seeming like such a good deal now are they?
I recognize several of your longstanding themes in this post. I once would have guessed it was several different Purple Koolaid Zombies posting. Now I realize it's just you- one guy with an MLS pipe dream and an astounding ability to rationalize failure even as it unfolds around him.
Bravo, Purple Lemming, Bravo!

So why did OCYS send out a letter stating if you didn't comply on doing as exactly told you would not play? No high school soccer now for December because why? They care!
So they get a nice article in the paper about how they now work so well with high schools but once they get MLS they start this garbage? I notice girls are doing as told.
You parents have no balls. You want the status over principle you deserve what you get.

My kid isn't even in middle school yet. But don't these HS teams play games like 3 times a week? Surely if your kids play club ball then play HS and then club again they are not resting and have risk of injuring themselves due to over use. The club which you actually pay for is trying to protect both parents and their athletes. 14--16 yr old girls are more likely to strain a knee than their male peers, playing that many games to me at least is asking for trouble.
