Some I guess. The club went from right around 2000 last year to about 1300 this year. When I was told that three left the DA with another thinking about it, I didn't ask who, but saw one name in the papers sports section the next day that he scored for his high school. I also know a parent that was going in to the office a couple weeks ago to try to get their child released. I only know about the Rush thing from here as I said. We will wait and see what pans out to be truths and what was just rumor. My source so far hasn't led me astray.

In addition, the older players in DA get burned out or have academic abilities outside of soccer and don't want to be cornered into only going to a school they could play at or are not interested at all in playing in college.

Yup... 30% leaving after first year. Completely normal.

Good try, and you are correct that kids do leave for different reasons. There are issues at OC with there DA program, time will tell if they correct them.

Please provide detail list of the problems in the DA. My kid is on the DA and sorry to tell you that there aren't any visible problems in ANY of 3 teams.

Lol unless you are FKK...would seem they have quite the loyal following. You had girls not committed leave OCYS and ECNL for a club simply based on loyalty for those running it.

OCYS has no loyalty. The directorship isn't loyal to you and they have done nothing to earn your loyalty. They filled spots and went outside the area in many instances. Your purple girls are now refusing to fill in for ECNL because they learned the hard way OCYS was full of crap.

You don't want to compete for a spot? You don't want to develop as a player? You want to play in a "system" and not a style of play geared towards the athletes on a team? You want to play for people that only care about the bottom line, MLS, and themselves? OCYS is your place.

There is some of this going on. The numbers are low on ECNL teams and girls are playing up in age as well as girls from thed purple team playing on ECNL.

I guess kids quitting and Rush severing ties with OC isn't bad enough for you. Win/Loss records being good doesn't mean that there aren't problems. Last year this time the U16 team was top 10 in the country, look what happened the rest of the season. They only took 12 players to the finals. OC lost all of the U18 but a couple last year, we will see if it happens this year too, it has already started. The same people that tried to deceive the US Soccer officials last year are still here, I don't think they have changed.

Really, how many DP's. My understanding that this year the DA teams had to declare DP's at the beginning of the season with a limit of 6. Yes, of course there are players to take there place. How did that go last year for the U18 team when there were about 20 DP players at the end of the year, and how is it going for the girls teams this year. Last years issues are relevant to this year as the same people are in charge and the same problems are coming up again. This is when kids started to leave last year, but the large group to leave took a little longer. Again we will see what happens and if they straighten things out.

Your driving force is bitterness and fear that DA will and is becoming more successful. It is ultimately a program that showcases the best players and it scares a lot of local people. I support soccer and I believe that all the clubs will still have plenty of kids, I just think the best boys will go to DA.

Aside from that, it's obvious "the best boys" aren't beating a path to OC DA, isn't it? When do you believe this might happen? 2014? 2015? What soothing word is the Directorship providing these days that will convince a fresh crop of parents to indenture their sons?

And how many foreign lads are now in the program, and how many more will be granted the coveted DA slots next year and in the future? will their subsidized housing come from only DA fees. or will all OC yourh members contribute?
