Take your medicine OC. How does it taste.

15,000 votes coming soon on OC leaving the youth soccer game. Stick to professional soccer. While your leaders eat drink at fancy places on our dime. Youth soccer is happening and it needs proper guidance not just gloss.

Straight from OCYS spin department.....IT'S the REFS fault!---CLASSIC

There are always those out there that will want to make more of this then there is and use it as a pawn in the OCYS/FKK battle.

OCYS can hardly be blamed for the actions of one individual coach on a rec team, especially a parent coach. Anyone suggesting as much should then also provide their foolproof scheme to never have this happen again.

What really is important is how OCYS deals with it.

It is Div3, GCF but it is not rec. OCYS Henson may be a rec team for y'all. That explains why they couldn't beat a team playing a man down for over an hour. You don't want the stank of dbaggery on your organization, don't let a dbag coach one of your teams.

GCF Division 3 at U15 Boys is Rec my friend. Comp Rec maybe...but in the grand scheme of all things soccer, it is a lot closer to Rec than Elite.

Can't say your wrong. But it is comp, club soccer. The kids deserve better. Either way if OC is going to put teams in that league they should expect professionalism. I've never seen my kids team lose to any of the OC regions cup teams.

                        Code of Conduct Policies
Coaches, Team Managers and Club Officials

We have a responsibility to promote high standards of behavior in the game. Orlando City Youth Soccer will implement this code of conduct to ensure soccer can be enjoyed in a safe, positive environment. Remember, youth soccer is a time for players to develop their technical, physical, tactical and social skills. Winning isn’t everything. Play your part and help enforce the Orlando City Youth Soccer Code of Conduct for Coaches, Team Managers and Club Officials at all times.

On and off the field, I will:
Show respect to others involved in the game including match officials, opposing players, coaches, managers, officials and spectators
Adhere to the laws and spirit of the game
Promote fair play and high standards of behavior
Always respect the match official’s decision
Never enter the field of play without referee’s permission
Never engage in public criticism of the match officials
Never engage in, or tolerate, offensive, insulting or abusive language or behavior

When working with players, I will:
Place the well-being, safety and enjoyment of each player above everything, including winning
Explain exactly what I expect of players and what they can expect from me
Ensure that all parents/guardians of all players under the age of 18 understand these expectations
Never engage in or tolerate any form of bullying
Develop mutual trust and respect with every player to build their self-esteem
Encourage each player to accept responsibility for their own behavior and performance
Ensure all activities I organize are appropriate for the players’ ability level, age and maturity
Co-operate fully with others in soccer (e.g. officials, doctors, physiotherapists) for each player’s best interests

I understand that if I do not follow the Code, any/all of the following actions may be taken by Orlando City Youth Soccer. I may be:
Required to meet with a club director
Required to meet with a club committee
Monitored by another club coach or director
Required to attend and education course
Suspended or fined by the club
Required to leave or be fired by the club

That ref was so professional and fair. He was calling both sides and he did not start that physical conflict. It's not a rec league, it's obvious that the kids that play for rockledge had way more skill and talent and some of them are going to play college, that's why they tied a horrible coached team with a man down and no subs. The coach made a fool out of him self trying to kill this amazing, well-trained ref when he got back handed. He's a trashy and a horrible coach from my point of view and he is a cowart.

                            The Rogue

Assuming the description of the incident as posted here is accurate:

Deplorable behavior by this coach. He should get everything he now deserves by the rules and the laws, up to and including criminal prosecution and a life-time ban from youth soccer coaching (I'm no fan of this day and age's "second chance" mentality). He has embarrassed his team and his club. Very thankful the ref was not seriously injured.

That said, it is ludicrous to say or suggest anyone, i.e., the club, is in any way responsible for this rogue coach's behavior (unless of course, he has done so before and the club has knowledge of it).

There are rogues in virtually every walk of life: coaches, refs, business executives, school teachers, military personnel, law enforcement, doctors, lawyers, politicians, etc.

Often times the rogue acts alone, with no prior history or knowledge of inappropriate behavior. No one can control every breath taken by the rogue.

Is all of the university indicted for a rogue coach? Is the ref association condemned for the rogue ref? Is the corporation guilty for the rogue business executive? Is the whole school administration and faculty at fault for the rogue teacher? Is the Armed Forces responsible for the rogue soldier? Is the police department accountable for the behavior of the rogue cop?

An embarrassment for the club to be sure, however, the club is NOT at fault. Only the rogue coach is at fault.

Such deplorable behavior has occurred in the past (thank goodness it is rare), and has the potential to occur again, at ANY club.
