Emminent domain is NEVER used to take private property from one private owner and give it to another private owner.

Emminent domain has been upheld by courts at various levels throughout the history of the USA.

It's e-m-i-n-e-n-t, not "imminent". A Freudian slip perhaps, because in this case, it is imminent that local government will invoke eminent domain for the soccer stadium.

"The property may be taken either for government use or by delegation to third parties who will devote it to public or civic use or, in some cases, economic development."

Of course, the original intent of "eminent domain" statutes was to allow government to avoid being extorted by opportunistic citizens who might purchase land in the eventual path of a railroad or highway in hopes of making a financial killing. The statutes allow the government to use a third-party fair market valuation to determine payment to the owner.

this original purpose has been stretched to the point of being unrecognizable- in some cases, the government has used ED to take private land and sell it to developers, using "public economic interest" as justification.

In this case, the City 'wants" to build a stadium where others happen to own land. The City declares that this is the only suitable location, and the lamdowners are simply out of luck. When it comes to Buddy's dream of a luxury box at the soccer stadium, individual rights take a back seat.

how nice would it be if all current influnces were gone and only new Directors with no past history were around.

For my family to come back to OC the only way is for all past influnces to be gone.

Frustrated and starving, the troll was frantically posting on this thread as well as others. Now exhausted, the troll has taken respite.

OCYS waged war with parents, coaches and used lawyers to threaten the league for this?

I honestly feel sorry for the players. The teams are not remotely competitive, which will translate into disappointment and a loss of love for the game.

Shame on the club management and coaching for continuing this shame.
