would not do you any good. FYSA bought OC crap and you will lose. OC is above the law.

OC does what they want. I'm hearing OC may take over Florida soccer

Maybe so but no one seems to register for their tournaments.

We just registered our team for the TBU tournament over Columbus Day and I understand Labor day event at OC is already cancelled and columbus day event only have OC teams so far

If you were a fromer OCYS member (or even an OC ticket holder) , you will most likely be in the OC data base for email ecommunication. Just like any business. Opt out/unsuscribe if you are not longer interested.

The very big difference is that if you were never a member, nor requested any info on FKK, why and how would someone even be in the FKK database to be solicited. That is were he wrong doing comes in. Seems like FKK may have unscrupulously obtained or misused an OC or FYSA mailing list. That is the big difference. ( and it took me over 2 months of unsubscribing to every FKK email before the "opt out" finally stuck....or else FKK stopped the email campaign)

Where did the "OC database" come from? Well... I suppose it was originated from the CFK and FSA databases, right? And how many people of those clubs had access to those original databases? Probably dozens.

So when you boil it all down, the notion of some James Bond-style business espionage of the precious OC database is silly and unproveable. If OC thinks it can demonstrate someone "stole" their intellectual property, I'm sure we would already have a lawsuit filed.

i've read the FYSA regs concerning poaching- there seems to be no exception that I can find that would relieve OC of its obligation to avoid sending club solicitations to players currently under contract via email. Looks to me like The Paper Lion better get its own house in order.

Herein lies the biggest difference. No one at OC wants to take over Florida soccer unlike Darth Jamaica!!

Pyschologists would have great research material if they visit these boards.... I have never seen such an extreme persecution complex as shown by the FKKers. I am guessing most of the posters are teenagers.

If FKK has done nothing wrong then they have nothing to worry about. If they have broken the rules then they should be disciplined, iotherwise why have rules?

Before any FKKers start saying OC did this and that to us..... a) remember the persecution complex a& relax and b) with the bad blood between OCYS and FKK I am sure that if OC has broken the rules then FKK will report it also and then the same applies.

I'd like somebody to explain the "benefits" of pro soccer to the 100's of thousands of taxpayers who are not soccer fans and won't attend matches. PR and comapany commissioned the standard "economic impact study" that claims to demonstrate a windfall- but how about we go look at the similar study that got the Magic a new arena? Or the one that got St. Pete the Rays Dome? Or the Bucs Stadium? Did those "public/provate partnerships" deliver on the promises?

The fact is that PR and Flavio would not be involved unless they could personally make a boatload of money. The more Phil can et paid by others, the bigger his personal gain. I just think he ought to be on the hook like everyone else and have some risk in a new stadium.

We already have the Citrus Bowl. We already have a new arena. We already are building an Arts center. What are the tangible economic benefits- the REAL benefits we can expect by building another stadium? Not just for 7500 fans/week. For EVERYONE?

Remember the pathetic "setting the record straight" memo from OC? who's got the persecution complex? If you want to compare neuroses- start with the Directorship's inability to admit mistakes and take accountability for their own incompetence.

Ok so are you claiming ZERO economic benefit for building a stadium (construction jobs) and having an MLS team (tourism, raises Orlando's profile further, local business impact, OC spending in the community, employment etc.)?

They are businessmen not philanthropists. Yes they want to make money. I consider it a symbiotic relationship... Orlando gets economic benefit, OC makes money for owners.... how is it different from providing massive tax breaks to attract companies to move to Orlando?

They are "on the hook" also. They have skin in the game for the stadium and will also pay in full for any overruns. Don't you read or do you just blindly object to everything?

LOL @ Citrus Bowl comment. If you believe that stadium is fit for purpose then I suggest you have not visited it in the last 10 years.

I would guess the owners believe that if they can attract 11,000 to a USL game then many more might turn up for an MLS game.

Finally, thank you for speaking for the 100s of thousands out there. As soccer seems like one of the fastest growing sports in the US and it seems like everyone has had their kid try it I would strongly suggest you don't have a clue what the interest level is. I think you are just opposed to EVERYTHING that involves using taxes. That type of intransigence is exactly waht has brought us the Tea Party and the gridlock in the federal govt.... Oh yea and I am a Republican, I just dislike the extreme fringes on both sides.

Hey, if Phil can claim to speak for everyone in Orlando why can't I? That's exactly what he did in the SI article posted above- "Don't you read or do you just blindly agree to everything?"

Sure, building a stadium adds construction jobs- but so does building a hospital (have you visited the south side lately?). And unlike sports franchises, hospitals actually creat jobs that STAY instead of heading off to the next city every few years. So since it's such a great idea, maybe then we should build TWO stadiums so we can double the construction jobs? You see, friend- your condescending remarks gloss over the real issue- short term v long term economic impact. Can you quantify for me the benefit of "rais(ing) Orlando's profile further"? How about the hard numbers behind "local business impact, OC spending in the community, employment etc."...

Those are all WONDERFUL sounding euphemisms and weaselly phrases lifted straight out of any off-the-shelf economic impact "study". How about Phil gives us some numbers and guarantees? How about if the Lions MLS don't create the jobs, attract the consistent out-of-state tourism you tout and demonstrably have positive economic impact, we get a rebate out of his pocket? Put up or shut up, I say.

and as for the Citrus Bowl- glad you're LOL- because that mess is about to cost us another $20 mm or so for "renovations" since nobody but the Monster Mud Show and the third tier soccer team wants to be there. Why is that? I'm sure if we do some reading we can dig out the decades old "study" that demonstrates the CB will bring millions of dollars, growth, businesses and "raise Orlando's profile further" (lol). how's that working out for us?

I like soccer. You like soccer. How about we pay our own way, instead of burdening EVERYONE (even $5) for us to enjoy MLS here? What right do you or I or Phil or Buddy have to other people's money?
