The tell tale signs of a helicopter parent. Let me guess, you make all the club decisions for your kid right? Probably have the coach on speed dial? Yep, we have a FKKrazie folks. Got his hand right up his kid's back and working her like a puppet.

So to answer your question, the reason those other girls did not tryout for ECNL last year is that they knew it was going to be primarily CFK girls playing for CFK coaches under the ECNL banner. You see the girls have these devices that allow them to text, instagram and kik one another. So they know more about who is playing for who than even a helicopter parent like you knows. But times change. SCU and FCA have had some big changes so that creates opportunity. CFK faithful walkout and that creates opportunity. It may well be the one year that there is a true open tryout for ECNL. It looked like a Disney tournament with all the different club swag represented. Well now they are all wearing the OC colors and we will see how they do compared to the CFK teams from last year.

And OCYS ECNL got off to a rough start with the "no high school soccer for OCYS ECNL players" which caused much whiplash only to be rescinded.

Wasn't all that controversy caused by HM?

No, all the controversy resulted from the English incompetence in running a youth soccer club. No different this year- they already screwed up and missed the deadline to get some of their teams into CDL league. Now, they've cancelling their first tournament.

I am glad to see OC is consolidating their efforts on tournaments. Trying to have, what 4 tournaments and then do all the stuff the club does anyway is to spread out. Concentrate your efforts and allow the club to grow. Doing what we did last year with an unhappy merger and too much stuff was counterproductive. Not all marriages work, now lets move forward and improve our club.

Wrong. The "no high school soccer for OCYS ECNL" fiasco was originally HM's brain fart.

Kinda like when HM was at CFK and strongly discouraged CFK players from participating in Super-Y at other clubs.

Let's tell the truth people. GB was running around drunk all over the place telling people that girls high school soccer was ruining his team. He was the one who pushed for it even after Eddie and Hue told him they had to play. A big, yes big sponsor was going to pull money until Phil said let them play.

I think I see what you are doing but not really sure of the motive. OC has nothing to do with DPs at rush. As far as who the DPs, that was done at tryouts by our coach. We were told at rush who would be a dp for DA so I don't know where you get off.

What you fail to realize is that HM was trying to help the girls. If you played ECNL last year, you would know that the Florida high school season is during the peak high school season. The reason ECNL allows other states to continue high school is that their high school season is during the spring - when ECNL has scheduled fewer games.
Many OC girls, who played on the purple teams, chose to play high school and this is 100% their decision and I am certainly not knocking that decision. However, between high school and club, it is too much wear and tear on their bodies and it seemed to me that I saw more girls from those teams sitting on the bench with injuries than ECNL girls who chose not to play high school.
So if you chose to call it controversy, then so be it. I call is concern for the players and their future.

Oops. Should have proofed that. What I meant was the Florida high school season is during the peak ECNL season - thus too many games and practices.
Once again, not passing judgment on the decision to play, but it will be interesting to monitor OC/ECNL injuries this year with those teams participating in ECNL, State Cup and high school.
