Truly shocked at the turnout for the girls side tonight. It was great!! I could not believe how many girls were there. 2 things will happen, ecnl will be stronger and the purple teams will be much stronger.

We were in the first session and the line of cars waiting for us to leave was all the way out of the gate. Pretty amazing that one age group could fill fields 1&2. It looked like an ODP try-out.

First hour was very much like an ODP try-out. Lots of girls trying to show skills without really playing soccer. Lots of "look at me coach" going on. By the last rotation, it had settled down to good soccer. Lots of great combinations and I could tell girls really enjoyed playing together. Great to see so much talent in one place.

it basically was the U13 team from OC and the U13 team from FCA. not many new faces. can these girls get along??? I know the parents can't.

FCA girl and two brevard girls got invites for the U14 a ECNL team tonight. Rest of team already chosen. All others trying out for purple and white.

Congratulations to OC on pulling off the Heist of the Century. OC the destroyer of a youth club. You must be the pride and joy of MLS. The purple monster. The destroyer of the beautiful game.

developing players on your own is never in the cards rather stealing coaches and having players follow them was the master plan.

Steal and rebrand in purple.

What ever happen to 90-10 90% development and 10% recruiting. OC is more like 99% recruiting and 1 %

Does anyone else see wrong in this. More bad Karma in OC future.

So let me get this straight, you absolutely hammer them all year long for being awful but they dealt rusty the girls and worked with them all year long. You kept saying they need to be better to keep ecnl. Now they are attracting better players and will probably have more solid teams but it is now all about how that recruited. They will still develop players, it is just now their top team will be better.

Not a silly goat but someone who understands this process. The team is picked for the U14 ECNL. You can believe it or not, that is your choice. Yes the Purple team will be strong but what I worry about more is the development of the player. I did not see the development of the girls at OC or FCA last year. Good teams but from start to finish their play did not improve. You can have speed, size, strength but if you can not control or pass the ball, it will catch up to you at U15 and up. Do your research.

ECNL is the current route for girls to take. It is a no brainer that more girls will continually try out. Does that mean they will remain at OC if not selected. I would guess some will, some won't. It is very common for girls to try out at different clubs. The whole purpose of this league is to bring the best girls in a community together. OC has ECNL, so that is where they will try out. Is it wrong, no. Let's quit thinking about our adult and club egos and let the quality girls play together and bring recognition to our community.

I would say about 60% of the top team was selected last night as a generalization from my kids 2 age groups. They will most likely look really hard the next couple of days to complete those rosters and pick white and red.

I would call that your opinion. I saw progress, but a grueling schedule that wore the girls down. Many injuries required bring players up. And you may complain about depth, but the team was intentionally kept small so there would not be tons of girls just sitting. Those girls were starters, got lots of playing time, and developed. But when you add new players, it takes time to gel. I looked a Sunrise and said, wow, those girls didn't develop much. I actually felt the OC girls had better ball skills. All perspective and agendas, the latter of which you obviously have.

The problem with your post is you think the only way OCYS can fix the problem is to give ECNL to you. You are going to criticize every thing they do. You are so disingenuous it is absurd.

incorrect. I have never said that... besides FKK seems to be doing just fine- we don't need anything from the Purple Lyin'. Better focus on improvement, Laddies... the ECNL is watching and not pleased so far.
