Originally posted by Unregistered View PostPull you head up and look around. This has more to do with Government overstepping than anything else. They give OC Millions, OC promises to provide a service for a small annual fee in exchange for free use of fields. There was no structure around the service other than a number of kids. Meanwhile the money OC is paying won't come close to covering the operational expenses for those fields. If they are taking the premium times rent free then how long before the government is digging into the tax payer pockets to cover the shortage?
The coalition was basically saying, NO to preferential treatment.
ALL you clubs had your chance to do the same things with these programs or give back to the community in some way. Did any of you do it? NO. Why? you were too busy trying to poach and out do each other (then you have the nerve to act like OC is the ONLY one poaching)
It has NOTHING to do w/ Government. Just a bunch of baby clubs worried about going under because you wasted the opportunity that your club had to do something and someone else came along and took advantage of it. Now your only worried about the fields because with these free programs they can put you out of business.
At least be HONEST. Don't call OCYS liars when you are lying yourselves. Not one of you can say that the real issue is NOT about how much damage the allocation of fields space will do to your club because you can't compete with free soccer.

OCYS will eventually beat you all. W/ MLS behind us you can't compete.
All your good players come to us because you couldn't do anything with them.
All the good Rush & FCA coaches came because even they knew.
Don't hate because they saw a better opportunity then working for a mom and pop baby club with stupid little petty issues.
Your Coaches left to work at a professionally run club = OCYS
Your Players left to be trained but Professionally trained staff = OCYS
In the end we will succeed because you will all turn on yourselves with your petty differences soon enough.
case closed.

"The County will allow the Team use of the following County Soccer Fields to
operate its Free Youth Recreational Soccer Leagues (as more fully set forth in
Section 7):
a. Fields:
i. Team to receive use of two (2) New Soccer Fields at each New
Location.
ii. In the event that any New Location has only one (1) New Soccer Field,
then County agrees to provide Team access to the sole New Soccer Field
at such New Location plus one (1) additional Existing Soccer Field (for
a total of two County Soccer Fields at each New Location).
3
b. Time of Year (the “Seasons”): Two (2) twelve (12) week periods annually as
follows:
i. Spring: February to May (12 consecutive weeks)
ii. Fall: August to November (12 consecutive weeks)
c. Time of Week During Seasons:
i. Week Nights:
1. Two weeknights per week: 5 to 7pm (2 hours total)
2. In order to assist Team with staff scheduling, the County agrees
that three (3) of the New Locations will be utilized on Monday
& Wednesday evenings and three (3) of the New Locations will
be utilized on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
And
ii. Weekends: One of the following:
1. Four (4) hours total on Saturday mornings (times TBD in goodfaith);
Or
2. Two (2) hours total on Friday evenings (times TBD in goodfaith)
and two (2) hours total on Saturday mornings (times TBD
in good-faith)
The usuage number they use in their press release is meant to mislead. 5% of total time true but how many teams use the fields between 8am and 4:59 pm during the week? The actual number is 47% of optimum practice/game times and 100% of the premium times.
If they aren't forming teams for leagues why did they request the premium times? They are business people and wanted the sweetest deal possible, that's what businesses do, but isn't it within the right of these youth clubs to challenge it.
If someone buys the house next to yours and decides they are opening a night club and the city just lets them do it, Are you going to fight or just sit there and let it happen?

Depends if Hue or Bobby S are the DJ's or not.
Their EGOs might make it profitable.
Each one thinks he's the messiah to boys and girls soccer

If someone buys the house next to yours and decides they are opening a night club and the city just lets them do it, Are you going to fight or just sit there and let it happen?
But haven't you distorted the truth in your post? How do you get "100% of the premium times?" They were asking for 5-7 on two nights a week, and either 4 hours on Saturday morning, or 2 hours Friday night and 2 hours Saturday morning. Three of the locations would be on Monday and Wednesday, the other three would be on Tuesday and Thursday. How does that equal 100%?
You are correct that business people want the sweetest deal possible. But so do the other clubs, which is why they challenged the original proposal. I wouldn't be surprised if the original proposal included more than what OC hoped to end up with, because that is the way businesses usually start negotiations. It's like buying a house - the seller asks for more than they want, the buyer offers less they they want to pay, and they give and take until they either reach an agreement that is acceptable to both, or they reach an impasse and move on to something else.

Slander them all you want but some of those Daddy coaches are some of the best coaches in the state with credentials and licenses that would get them jobs anywhere. So what of they have kids in the club? You may not like them but can you seriously question the qualifications of the JA's, BS's or TG's? I doubt it, and if you do you are showing your ignorance.

Talk is cheap. OCYS is all talk, all spin all propaganda- just like the above post. More bluster from a bootlicking Dad who hopes it may help his kid somehow.
