I think OC has to be very worried about quality of 00 and 01 going into DA next year. They are counting on many of those kids for next year and none stood out. None. The new recruits totally flopped. Terrible. Time to recruit recruit recruit.
when you can't develop you must recruit. recruit recruit recruit. Tell kids and parents what they want to hear.
Okay, I'm willing. But tell me again- what exactly IS "the plan"? And how much will it cost me?
If you are good enough to play DA, the. It is free. Actually some parents getting refunds at end of this year. Very much like Euro academies. Training for top talent is free and parents have no expectation because it is not pay-to-play. Ballsy move by OC. We will see if it pays off.

Not free just more bull by Phil! Travel costs are outrageous!
Is it just me or does it seem like...the question, "Play to win or play to win?" makes no f'n sense?
Totally agree! Play to win or play to win? I think I will go with the "Play to Win"!
IMO, if you are playing checkers, chess, HORSE, or baseball you should play to win. I get the play the game and have fun deal, but you should always have a desire to win the game! The desire to win gives you that little extra boost in your stride, and extra focus on the subject at hand.
In the case of soccer or any sport, it comes down to practice, having good athletic players, and a motivation to learn the game. These coaches can "develop" players all week long but if the players are slow, and "slow upstairs" then they will never be good players in a truly competitive environment. They may have a good first touch in your eyes but is the ball moving at a competitive pace when they receive it? Do they really have a good finish or are they just good on an open shot with no defenders? Can they dribble a ball at full pace? ...with their head up and eyes on the field?
In baseball they learn to hit off a tee! Any kid should be able to hit off a tee! But if you can't hit a moving ball thrown by a pitcher then your kid will never be a baseball player.
You guys talk about the game like it should be played like Barcelona all the time. Yes, possession is an important part of the game but even Barcelona will not turn down an open player making a run down the field.
Coaching youth soccer requires one to be a psychologist, a counselor, a teacher , an entertainer , a negotiator , among other jobs mixed in. You have to deal with the kids themselves ( that's usually the easiest part) , the parents, the refs , opposing coaches who may have very different ideas than you do , league officials ... It goes on and on.... But there is little that compares with working on skills and concepts with kids and seeing them put to use during games, watching them go from kids playing soccer to becoming soccer players ( it's not the same thing) And that is true whether one gets paid or not.
Hey, Ignore-Guy, maybe if you ignored the OCYS stalker he would give it up already. Nobody but you gives a cr@p, he only persists because he knows it's driving you insane. Just stop posting already. Better yet just stay off the website completely, it will be better for your sanity.
Months and months of bad-mouthing and bashing on TS between FKK and OCYS (as well as amongst and between central Florida's youth soccer clubs in general).
At 2013 Disney Jr. Showcase, 24 teams played in U11 - U14 boys and girls groups from FCA, FKK, FL Rush and OCYS...and produced 1 and only 1 champion (U11 Premier: OCYS 02/03 Purple I).
After being humbled at Disney, going forward, rather than bad-mouthing and bashing each other on TS, youth club soccer in central Florida (which seemingly acts as though its the epicenter of elite soccer in Florida) should wake and realize its need to be focused on its own teams within its own clubs.
