I think they wanted a better presentation, but Regis and Kelly were booked.

State Licenses go up to a D, then it's onto the National program.

            Pederson, don't know.

To the earlier poster, with regard to the DA, they just got the DA officially on Friday, which is probably why things are so vague. Last nights meets has been on the calendar for a three weeks minimum so it was not originally part of this agenda.

On the coaches, it's a very sticky situation, everyone wants a top team and want control of their players. This is a new environment so things will change and those conversations need to happen so that they know for sure who's coming back or not based on the assignment. If they post now and they have to make changes I'm sure many would screaming about deception and bait switch....

Menzies does have a National A not sure about the others.

You need to pay better attention, they said he ate at a Houston Doughnut shop.

Avg US car mpg highway = 27
OOCEA tolls estimated at $9.50 per roundtrip
                  38 weeks of training
                  3 nights per week

Roundtrip from Melbourne Beach = 170 miles
                  3 times per week = 510 miles
                  38 weeks per year = 19380 miles
                  19380/27 = 718 gallons
                  718 * 3.75 = $2692.50
                  Estimated toll adder = $1083

Annual estimated transportation expense from Melbourne Beach = $3775.50

Roundtrip from Lakeland = 150 miles
                  3 times per week = 450 miles
                  38 weeks per year = 17100 miles
                  17100/27 = 634 gallons
                  634 * 3.75 = $2377.50
                  Estimated toll adder = $1083

Annual estimated transportation expense from Lakeland = $3460.50
Practice times will be 8-9:30pm. Plan on leaving at 6pm and getting home between 11 and 11:30pm. Lots of homework and eating in the car.

Also think a few questions were not answered to the satisfaction of most people, like where kids would practice. Also disappointed that it is taking so long to get the coaches announced.
Some things were vague, like how the DA tryouts will be held, and also how the costs of DA/ECNL are being subsidized. (Other kids' fees I'm sure) Most of the panel did talk about their own high school success, but again, no DA/ECNL around at that time. High school soccer is not the best, but is still an important part of life for many kids. My kid loves it, good, bad, or ugly as it is.

They now have around 8 different sites for games or practice. Since they have a lot of kids for many areas, it will probably depend on the makeup of the team. As in the past, practice sites were not finalized until after tryouts. Premier coaches are never announce until after State Cup. Additional coaches are usually added after tryouts if more premier teams are created. I'm disappointed with the NO high school decision by HM. Unfortunately, that was always his position and I hope he reconsiders. 3 months out the year is not going to make or break a player's game. That's my opinion.

They only care about the highest level product, and are using the lower level product to pay payroll. It is a shame, that youth soccer is a BUSINESS being run by a bunch of MORONS, that don't care about the KIDS one bit (except for the parents money).
Greg Brick is an extreme hard worker you can expect him to be training your little childs team.

                          Please clarify

                          Point of clarification needed

OCYS ban of high school soccer:

For 2012-13, USSDA programs nationwide will have a mandated ban on high school soccer. OCYS has no control over this matter and must comply.

As an organization, to date ECNL has not mandated a high school soccer ban.

At OCYS for 2012-13, is the club banning high school soccer for ECNL teams only OR is OCYS banning all its high school aged "A"/"Premier" teams from high school soccer OR is OCYS banning all high school aged teams from high school soccer?

                          Please advise. Thank you.

At the meeting it was stated that "all players have a choice to play ECNL/DA, or to play State Cup/High School". So the only ban is for ECNL/DA players to not play High school, and the DA decision is mandated by the DA itself, and ECNL decision by OCYS. So as long as you are not in one of those two programs, you are allowed to play high school soccer.
I am curious - are there many players who if given the opportunity to play ECNL/DA, would turn that down based on the high school issue?

We are on a top team at CFK and I think the feeling is about 50-50 at the moment. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

I also think the high school ban will get increased. I'm just not sure as to when but it will. HM talked to us about not playing hs and some people did not last year.

Assuming the post above is accurate...

U.S. Club Soccer's ECNL has modeled itself after USSF's USSDA program.

USSDA has mandated a nationwide ban on high school soccer beginning in 2012-13.

To date, ECNL has left the decision regarding high school soccer in the hands of each ECNL club. However, that being said, it is not unreasonable to expect ECNL to ban high school nationwide in the future.
