Duffus, the email said CFK becomes OC, say good bye to cfk. It was held on cfk side of town and even though everybody was invited to attend, that is how I read the emails.

I have an honest question, wondering if this was addressed at the meeting. If I have a truly top player, capable of playing on the ECNL team, but I don't want to deal with the commitment that goes along with that (not just cost but time, travel, etc), would I have the option to play on a state cup team at OC? I do have a life outside soccer as well as other kids to consider. At U14 I don't think exposure out of state is a major issue. What if I just want my daughter to get top-level training, continue to play at a high level (in-state), and travel to one or two top tournaments. Will OC have that option for those who choose? What if several, or a majority, of the top U14 players did not want to go into ECNL? Will parents have any voice in that decision?

Ok @&$?!, do you not think the FSA people were recieving emails without the CFK in it? are you that narrow minded that you think the FSA people got your email and just decided to make a bigger deal than it was?

The fact it was being held in Winter Springs and hosted a panel from CFK raised concerns before the meeting. The fact even yourself didn't see it as an "OCYS" event for both clubs just reinforces what everyone is bitching about. Why is that so hard to understand for you?

Not sure what you're looking for. If you want someone to come to you and say "it's up to you, just let us know", that won't happen. The club could hold ECNL tryouts separately, so candidates are presumed to want ECNL. Those that don't make it will probably be invited to the SC or RC teams if available.

I'd say you if you don't want ECNL , you may have the opportunity to tryout at the sc level right from the start.

Yes it's your choice. I already know of probably a half dozen girls (different ages) who are opting out, assuming they are selected. The question then becomes do you want her to play in the FPL league on a state cup team? We said this year we wouldn't do that again and were going to FSA. Now that FSA is gone what are our options?

BTW HM, if you’re going to continue to make a living out of spinning your own agenda you may want to consider a public speaking course. Why did OYCS let you lead the session? ugly.

So hilarious how some continue to ignore the evidence right in front of them. You say CFK mgmt is "tainted" and " not respected"- yet the new owners and execs from OCYS clearly have chosen him to play a major role. I guess you think they're stupid.

The girls are not "oblivious", but apparently you are. Did you not hear the ecl commissioner who played for HM praise him? Did you not hear the BIGGEST applause of the evening go from the players to Hue?

              Blinded by hatred.

So you know 6 girls different ages that will opt out of ECNL if offered? Or do you know 6 girls that have no way of making it that say they would opt out to make themselves feel better?

Moving to FSA because of the dedication of a state cup team or FPL?

                I don't believe you or....

You sound like one of "those types" of parents where what you think and reality taking different paths...

Can I offer you just a rec soccer league somewhere and then you can also play High School? That is a good amount of soccer with zero expectations and almost zero effort.

Don't kid yourself with this "opt out" crap. The ECNL and da teams will be largely selected long before tryout. These coaches know just about every player in CF. They are inviting kids theyve seen to tryout.

The club is not going to sit around waiting to see who "accepts" ECNL or "opts" for sc team. That would be complete chaos. The players they know they want will be asked to commit LONG before tryouts, and others won't be asked at all. They'll be invited to join the sc team.

Duh. I know parents on both CFKs and FSAs u16, 15, and 14 teams. 17 & 18s too for that matter. This isn't a large community especially for those of us that have more than one kid. Do you not think I know exactly what my daughters chances are of landing wherever? While this place is set up for lies and manipulations those of us in the real world know what is going on. Go ahead and badger as much as you like. it won't change anyone's mind. .

It was addressed. It was stated you have a choice - ECNL/DA or State Cup/High School.
No one can force you to play ECNL if you really don't want to. It isn't for everyone. I'm not sure how the tryouts will work since they said ALL girls would be together and ECNL team would be picked first, but I would think if you were offered a spot and you didn't want it you would just decline and they would put your daughter on the next team down.

At most there are 2-3 spots on each Krush/ECNL roster available. The current U17 and U16 are in the SC final four. Do you think those rosters are going to change much as those teams move on to ECNL? The state cup teams playing in FPL is also a real problem as the competition is weak.

So much for your if you build it they will come theory then, huh. I thought all the great players will travel for ecnl, obviously you hope not by your post. "These coaches know just about every player in CF. They are inviting kids theyve seen to tryout." Your CF teams haven't exactly dominated of late. (Girls) " If you build it they will come"

So what your saying is you don't want any good players to come in and unseat your little girl?
You also may want to read the ECNL website most of the girls on there have already committed by u16, So it may be to late for Mia.

There are other girls who are playing on top 16 teams who would qulaify for ECNl teams. Do not think for one minutes that only 2-3 spots will be available for other players. In the past new ECNL clubs were suprised to see that openminded coaches selected only about 50-60 % of their previous team to be on ECNL. If the same does not take place woth the new Florida teams it would be a major blow to ECNL and the new ECNL clubs.

certainly every top 16 team has 1-3 players which brought their team to the top 16. They are the likely candidates to play ECNL. In the Orlando area the local U17 team is not that good on a all around basis. There is lots of room for improvement. The same hold true for Brandon.

OYSC say NO to CFK. ECLN is being used as a tool. The ECLN structure only benefits, at best, 20 girls in each age group. Outside of those 20 is where the true numbers are, many of them with exceptional talents, who are not willing to forgo high school ball for a small shot of a D1 ride. Being an alternative club to CFK will be more profitable than being part of “them”. Just say NO. They need you more than you need them. They know it. Take control back.
