That's funny. Rg and rush have applied 5 times and gotten denied 5 times. The cooperation among clubs is great, but rest assured that if rg could have gotten it, he would have. First step in ocys acquiring rush. That club is not going the right direction.

Thank you rg for again working to receive credit where it isn't due. This is why your club is on the decline because all you care about is yourself. Rush won numerous state cups 3 or 4 years ago. Today they have 2 teams that even made the round of 8. I can assure you you were a side-note on the application. Rush kids will help ocys be competitive immediately but lets be honest, those kids would have gone to ocys anyway.

I think we can all agree that OC put the name behind it but RG had been working on this for quite some time but in know way do I think he thinks that he should get the credit. Far from it, hes actually thrilled that they got it no matter how and pleased to be working together with OC. He's no dummy, he is actually very vocal about what OC can and will do for our area.

There is no magic. Ocys is the academy and rush is sending players to try-outs. Doesn't seem that difficult to understand.

Why only two teams?

So this will really only benifit the boys at born in 1995 and 1993 for this next year?

Next season it will be 94s and 96s, but top 95s and 97s should be in the mix if they make the point of selecting the best players regardless of age. Most of the guys will come from the regular U16, U17 and U18 ages with possibly some U15s.

If they do it like other clubs, it will also trickle up into the younger ages because clubs like Weston and Kendall set up their pre-Academy teams based on calendar year age as young as U13/U14 and develop them through the system. The Academy really does involve a complete change in mindset in how the top players are managed. No more chasing after GotSoccer points. I can tell you that.

The Development Academy application was a joint venture with the Rush, the two clubs will be pooling their best talent to represent Orlando City in the DA League

The CFK application for Academy was turned down. The Rush application was accepted and was going to take place in 2013 but was moved up 1 year because of several circumstances one of which was OCYS joined the Rush in support of the application. Because of the OCYS involvement the Academy application was accepted now. The same thing took place with ECNL. Without OCYS ECNL would not have been approved for CFK. Please understand the influence of a successful soccer operation. OCYS is now considered a SUPER CLUB very few clubs in the entirenation have both ECNL and Academy. Be supportive and you will be aprt of the results.
