"Largest"? By the simple mathematical exercise of FSA membership + CFK membership, a given.
"Most prestigious"? "Most professionally run club"? Other than holding Super-Y tryouts, OCYS has done NOTHING yet to demonstrate prestige or professionalism.
Good grief!
Most Professionally run club? Why yes, if by no other measure than what CFK brings to the new club: all licensed coaches, full time executive director, and a "club based" system modeled after successful clubs like CASL, Lone Star and highly regarded California clubs.
Most Prestigious? Yes. Wouldn't you agree that ECNL is "prestigious"? Most people do. Is there not some level of "prestige" in being associated with the PDL/USL franchises? Of course there is.
I'm sorry some take offense. I think you should be less defensive and work harder to improve whatever club you're a member of. Then you could claim the same as I have.

(granted it doesn't take much to be more professionally than any club in central florida) I just don't get how everyone is claiming they are the end all be all and they haven't done anything yet. For all you know they could come out and say it will be $3000 for rec, $4000 for region and $6000 for state cup teams, plus all parents must help on fridays cutting the grass with scissors.

Since you disagree, please name the club that is larger, more professionally run, and more prestigious. When you (or anyone else) names such a club, we will make a head-to- head comparison right here on TS. Sound good?
So what makes it prestigious? What makes it professional run? It will be the largest club just like Fl Rush was 4-5 years ago but what will it do to not repeat the rush.

If you understood the TWO YEARS of work, planning, changes, and genuine effort that went into getting the ECNL bid, you would understand why it's important that facts are facts. If it doesn't matter to you, fine. At least have the courtesy to defer to those who think it IS IMPORTANT to credit the people who actually achieved something. I don't care if you think it's not important, or meaningless, or doesnt matter or whatever. It matters to me.
You've had your say. The "heavy lifting" for ECNL was done by CFK. For whatever
reason(s), CFK chose to enjoin with OCYS rather than maintain its independence with its ECNL status.
Now, get over yourself already.

The same people that will be in charge are the same people that change their ways every 2 to 3 yrs in the history of Orlando Youth Soccer. So knock yourself out and don't forget to bring your checkbook...Hope your little one makes the ECNL Team or I'm sure you will be one of the many that will be claiming it's not fair. But that's okay, you still have the B and C Team.
Now with ECNL and "visions of an MLS franchise dancing in their heads", OCYS believes it will draw all the elite players from near and far.
"Largest" (so much for "quality, not quantity"), "most prestigious" (ECNL wouldn't even exist if it weren't for Title IX) and "most professional" (some yet to materialize sudden influx of elite coaches/trainers) will make OCYS' "B" andf "C" teams superior to others' "A" teams. All at affordable and reasonable costs for all, no doubt.

Keep rationalizing that it will all go away. That's what everyone said three years ago when lowly CFU started the journey. Meantime we'll just keep pushing ahead.
Good luck.

ECNL took a lot of hard work, which many people should be proud of. It's a good step toward being a really good club. But I know it angers people like you when someone else works hard and achieves something you're not part of.

Region Cup
5 teams in the Final four
3 Champions
1 Runner up
1 3rd Place
State Cup
16 teams entered
6 to round of 16
6 to Round 2
Granted this does nothing to prove whether they should or shouldn't be in ECNL but as much as you like to hate, it wouldn't matter anyway right. Not a great showing at Region cup overall but still several of the younger teams excelled which bodes well for the future. At the older ages, you can see the results and keep in mind the entire program is still years away from truly kicking in. The true depth is at U13 and below.
