Application for MLS team is going in tomorrow and TBU plays a prominent role in it.

"It’s not the first time the Rowdies have dipped their toes into the waters of youth development. In Edwards’ first year as owner, the team formed a partnership with another prominent program in the region, Chargers SC. The deal was meant to give the Rowdies an advisory role in technical aspects of the Chargers Development Academy. Apart from a few soccer clinics and discounted tickets for kids in the program, though, the partnership has not appeared particularly active over the last three years."

Bill Edwards is done with the Chargers. He has TBU heavily integrated in his MLS application that is being submitted today.

TBU club teams will just be called on to work as ball boys, maybe clean up a little or do some field prep. Wont do anything to help with their DA problems. But dream on - perhaps a merger with WFF still viable.

"The Rowdies are also making strides toward an academy in a new partnership with Tampa Bay United, a well-established youth program in the region. Former U.S. U-17 Assistant Coach Keith Fulk has been tapped as the director of the newly-combined U.S. Soccer Development Academy teams for the Rowdies and Tampa Bay United."

Why would European tourists watch JV soccer when they can watch much better games live back home?

Because you do stuff like that when you're on vacation. Why would people watch Spring Training baseball when they can watch the NY Yankees at home?

You do realize that TBU LOST ALL 4 games to Armada this past weekend right? Should we give TBU credit for the 2 goals they scored, or for the 12 goals they allowed Armada to score?

I see you have posted that each day this week at least. So I suggest you REALLY enjoy those 4 victories because this entire thread is about some fairly significant developments between TBU and TBR. This thread is focused on the trend line. The positive, synergistic benefits that will be experienced by the boys that play Academy at TBU going forward. If the last 3-5 years at TBU are any predictor then they will dramatically the parent/player experience at the TBU on the boys Academy.

So you should note last weekend with a yellow highlighter on your calendar and really enjoy those 4 victories because it is all changing going forward.

The TBR+TBU bid just moved into a stronger position:

"One of American soccer’s most authentic, feel-good stories took a distressing turn Tuesday evening, and now the lone MLS expansion bid that appeared to be a lock suddenly is surrounded by questions and uncertainty."
