Originally posted by Unregistered View PostFor GDA, my daughter was offered everything and a bag of chips. She would have been 100% funded even though we can afford to pay. She could play HS. She would start and get the most playing time. I assume everyone was offered this. I asked for this writing and it was not forthcoming but we didn't wait very long. It was just too good to be true, they didn't know who coach would be, and the other parents we know at the club complain incessantly how awful it is.

2. Coaching - A coach who runs solid training sessions, and shows consistent growth in his player's individual performance, as well as team performance.
3. Players - Players actually enjoy playing with each other, push each other to get better.
It is not hard to build a solid foundation for retaining players and even having players want to play at your club...some clubs will lose players because a player will get a legitimate better opportunity in another club (higher league play, more exposure), but for 90% of the players, that will have little impact.
Be honest, hire the best coaches you can, and focus on training.
If no results on U15-U18 teams, your club development is lacking. You can talk all you will about development but if it never leads to any results, what are you really offering?

Do you go to tournaments that you can't win?
I was having a discussion with someone the other day about tournaments? Should you enter tournaments if you know you have no change in winning?
I understand playing better teams will help make your team better.
I also understand entering tournaments that you know you can be competitive and have a chance to win.
What do you think?
