Thanks. With only 1 more game than d1, why is there s six point disparity in qualifying mark?

The required points are pre determined by RIIL before the season starts

I thought it was 15 for D1? Can anyone please clarify

Only impact of 13 v 15 is for Portsmouth..unlikely to get to 15..

well, I guess Prout with - ahem, 4 games in 6 days, is still theoretically in the hunt - thanks a lot AD..great concern on student-athlete well-being for keeping crappy fields all these years.

You have to win 30% of your games (comes out to be 13 pts. gets you in) according to RIIL. That's for all three divisions.
RIIL makes all the rules regarding playoffs.

The only thing that differs between each division is byes.
D2 and D3 are guaranteed the top 4 get byes. In D1 it depends on how many teams get in.

                12 teams 4 byes, 13 teams 3 byes, etc.

Such an idiotic system. But that is RIIL for you.

If you do not have a winning record why should you even be in the playoffs?

If points are even, what is the first tie-breaker for seeding? Total Victories or Head to Head? If Scituate were to draw tonight, both Scituate and Lincoln would have 21 points. Scituate beat Lincoln head up but Lincoln would fibnish with more victories. Who would be the higher seed in that situation?

Head to head....you can't get into how the points were obtained

They should just have SK and Smithfield play and the winner take on LSA and call it a season.

D2 would have been a great playoff is RIIL had moved Pilgrim up and kept Burrillville down.

SK was lucky to get out of Lincoln with a Draw last night ...

Where was the Lincoln against Prout so the team would have a better seed instead of looking at a q-final exit at LSA..

More bad weather - guess Prout will keep the regular season going longer..

How does RIIL decide Scituate v Barrington seed since didn't the tie in the head to head?

Wrong. I think if nothing else was proven this season, it was that any team was susceptible to losing to a weaker team at anytime. There were “upsets” all season long. And although LaSalle has never lost (yet), they definitely had games where they were fortunate to get out with a 1 goal win (especially against bottom half teams like EG). I actually think these playoffs will be more interesting then many in the past years, because there is so much parity amongst a whole slew of teams, and the playoffs will just like the regular season, and have a few upset specials in store for us.

Not meant as a point towards Lincoln, my point is that SK is being anointed as a finalist however they were unable to beat CW, Portsmouth, Mount Hope & Lincoln. It's a odd year, obviously LSA should be there but I don't see SK as given just yet. Prout just thumped Lincoln but SK can only draw. It's that kid of a year.

How do people here seem to know the matchups already? They don’t appear to be posted yet? Care to share?
