it would seem apparent that having only a few strong players would allow a team a greater chance to succeed in d2 rather than d1. i learned that one from Captain Obvious, but most people with common sense would get that too.
One 15 game schedule; think the committee pretty much it right. Scituate has its top scorere and GK coming back so a good test for those how D2 vs D1 compare conversations go.
Division I (16 Teams)
La Salle
Portsmouth
Smithfield
Mt. Hope
South Kingstown
Cumberland
North Kingstown
Coventry
Scituate
Burrillville
Lincoln HS
East Greenwich
Barrington
Cranston West
Prout
St. Mary Bay View
Pilgrim, EWG, and TG out; Scituate and Burriville up. I guess Bay View drew the short straw.
Pilgrim and EWG tied and Pilgrim only beat TG by one goal. I hope RIIL moved Johnston and EP up to D2..see how they do against the 3 teams that dropped down.
Maybe with one less game LSA will actually schedule a game against some real out of state competition
Pilgrim moved down to D2, any other D1 school move down?
How about D3 schools? Who moved up if any?
Anyone have the list for D2 and D3?
What..you mean you can't find that info with that wonderfully transparent and user friendly RIIL website..or those up to date and transparent PCOA minutes?

LSA will not schedule against other private schools and show themselves to be a sub-par private school athletic program on a regional landscape.
The bottom spots of D1 will be a short term revolving door for years...scituate and burrillville will be below .500, with scituate fairing slightly better due to a very strong keeper

In 3 years both teams will move back to D2. Both feeder systems are not where it needs to be to support D1 programs. I’m surprised how E/WG made it this far.

You doubters of the scituate keeper are morons. We are from a rival school yet it is difficult to ignore talent. You took issue with a post that simply said they would fare better than another team since their stronger keeper would keep the games closer. Sophomores from D2 don’t even get considered for all state if they don’t have something to offer. Get a life and stop looking for a reason to tear down a kid, simply because most people probably look past your kid.

She an above average keeper in RI but let’s not make her to be what she is not. My hope is will continue to develop her skills and maybe one become a top notch keeper comparable to others in the surrounding states.

Take a deep breath. RI D2 high school soccer is one of the worst high school soccer leagues in the country. Any freshmen or sophomore with any level of talent is going to shine in this league. Does this keeper play ECNL, DA, NPL? How does she play in those leagues?
SK’s sophomore GK was named to the all New England team so not sure you can say the Scituate keeper is “the best in the state”....didn’t Scituate lose to Burrillville in state finals on PKs? Heard the Burrillville keeper was the star of that show. Looks to me like Scituate GK mommy or daddy (or grandpa?) is a fan of taking soccer....lots of promotion for this kid!

And no one has answered where this keeper plays club? I think for those who have no clue who she is, it would give us some perspective of the level at which she plays outside of high school, which is really more indicative of her talent level.
