CW? They do not have any game and physically (dirty as well) take the game right out of soccer. That's the coach's game plan...And it works! If that is a better coach you need your head examined.
I don't think LaSalle is as strong as previous seasons. A few good players but are not stacked at all. Not a sure thing for them this year. Nor should it be regarding their roster not their coach. Just being fair as an opposing parent.
It's very easy to blame the coach when the kids aren't playing well, however, you need to look at your player and the players around them as well. Are they all doing their jobs? Sometimes it can be the coach as well. But... sometimes it is a little of both or maybe the talent just isn't there. (WE) Most of us as parents don't want to see it as our players or their teammates faults for some of the game. The easy way out is to blame the ref or the coach.
I love this site though. Some parents are insane. Love it!

Let's be fair.pretty much any "average" RI soccer coach (meaning someone not just thrown in but having some minimal soccer playing/coaching background) would have won RI state championships with LSA. LSA has won 6 of the last 9 and its playoff losses (two in finals) were due to PK shootouts - which perhaps says something when you have teams where ever field player would start on every other RI HS team and perhaps every bench player would too. LSA should win every state title with perhaps the exception of the Portsmouth team that had a singularly unique talent combined with some unusually (for a RI public school) strong supporting players (maybe Smithfield in 2012 as well). And still it was PK.
HS soccer is about winning from a *soccer* perspective; nobody should be should saying HS soccer is contributing to a player's *soccer* development (yes, there should be co-curricular aspects of teamwork, leadership, etc.).
So a HS coach's job is to win by putting the talent in the best position and best style given the players available. Far different than a youth coach (especially at u14 and below - if you believe USYSA - of course that is often the talk and not the walk).
A HS coach shouldn't be teaching *dirty* play, but physical play, kick and run, over the top are all fair game tactics depending on your talent..but a *good* coach of a *talented* (or clearly more talented than the opponents) should know how to defeat those tactics..especially at the HS level where most coaches don't teach set plays and common tactical situational events (corners, throw-in, goal kick defense to keep ballin attacking zone)

I cannnot even imagine the heartbreak for her family, friends and teammates. That could have been any of our girls out there, seemingly with their entire lives out in front of them. The next time I worry too much about the outcome of simple games that are ultimately insignificant, I hope that I can think back to this fine young lady to recall what is truly important.

Something More Important
Mattie Potts Wake last night (Chariho student). Very sad, heart wrenching however comforting in that an incredible number of people showed up. Calling hours from 11 AM to 8 PM, with the line of people filling the parking lot well after 8:30 PM. A testament to the community / state and how well thought of the entire Potts family is.
My daughter when going through the receiving line, spoke to Mr Potts (Science Teacher at Chariho), asked how he was doing. He first stated "I am fine...then stopped and said well not really but this is reality and I will be ok". A Chariho student next to her started crying. Mr Potts said "Come on man...one of us has to be strong (and then smiled)".
She told me this and I got misty eyed. What an example of excellence through adversity. Mr and Mrs Potts are first incredible parents (and their job is not done, as Mattie has a younger sister). They are also top notch community members, always thinking of others. My heart bleeds for them.
Finally what an example for us to consider of incredible goodness in a time where the media is filled with hatred and self-promotion. Mattie's death though sad has far reaching impact toward how we all should act. Mr and Mrs Potts....my thoughts are with you. Good bye Mattie...I shall miss you.
