I'd say no big deal since LSA has the depth. When a star player leaves a town program, it will really hurt more.

The DA is a bad idea preventing kids from playing HS soccer. I know that HS soccer is weak and injuries can happen. The leadership skills, friendships, and opportunities to play new positions (a club defender playing forward in HS) are all important development qualities that the DA will impact. Preventing these kids from playing other sports like Basketball, track, etc... is not good for overuse injuries and one sport burnout. If the goal is to play College soccer, the DA won't change your chances since the better players are still the better players.

I am not a fan either, which is why we are not looking to go that route even though most of my child's current team is heading to DA. We're more than happy to have her stay NPL and play other sports and HS soccer. Its all about their goals too. She's looking at lower D1 so at this point we feel no need to look to sacrifice all that for something she can acheive without it. That could all change in a year or two, but for now, pretty happy with this path.

Some teams have started Captain's practices, some are playing summer league, some coaches have already scheduled "informal practices" with their teams. It will be here before you know it.

Who the hell are the pirates?? Did you mean Patriots ? Every team throughout division 1 lost key players Cumberland lost J.R and AD. Mt Hope lost M.G and T.D. Lasallle lost M.B and a few others to GDA. That's just the semi finalist from last year. I'm sure all of the other teams lost players too. Although MKM the biggest loss. Portsmouth will still be fine. So will all four of these teams.

Portsmouth will be fine without MKM, they made the semifinals a few years back without her...the town program is good and the rest of the state is weak. Lasalle will win again with great depth and probably the best player left playing this fall. Mt. Hope will be top half maybe even top four. Cumberland won't even make the playoffs...they will struggle to score.

For the first time in three seasons Lincoln has a huge Freshman class, something like 15 Frosh playing summer league, helps explain the poor record. Last year Lincoln played well in the summer league for the exact opposite reason, it was all upper classmen. Should be good in the field this season but literally terrible at the keeper position, will hurt them badly in big games. Good enough to make the post season but it will be one and done.

Kudos to Lincoln coach for getting all those girls involved in summer league team. That's what summer league is for, to prepare for fall season.

No. Only keeper is a very inexperienced soph who does not play any club or spring soccer. Going to be an issue for a team that has a promising group of returning field players.
